Ah ok! I read somewhere once that drinking a protein shake before a workout was more beneficial than drinking it after, but I never thought that drinking a shake during a workout would help, seeing that you're supposed to wait for at least one hour after a meal before doing any exercising.

I always drink water for hydration and perhaps eat bits of banana or other high energy foods during a workout, but I would never normally touch a protein shake until after warming down and resting. If there is no harm in drinking a shake whilst warming down, does this have any advantages over drinking a shake after a strenuous workout or is it purely a matter of personal preference?
