I once read that the average guy thinks about sex on some level every two minutes. Though, in fairness, the majority of the thoughts consisted of "she's cute" and remarks of that nature. To think about sex once in a while is normal; just don't let it control your every waking moment.

How do you stop such thoughts?

Read a book. Go fishing. Learn a new language. Take up a new hobby. The point is, the only way to prevent such thoughts is to occupy your mind with other thoughts. Not trying to get a another girl to join you and your gf might help as well.
