Default Question about working out

I am a 32 year old mother of two boys. With my first son I gained 21 pounds and lost roughly 15 of that after he was born. I always intended to work out and loose the rest of the weight but, never got the chance to. Seven years later I got pregnant with my second child and waited anxiously for his delivery. I gained 14 pounds with him. Added to the weight that I hadn't managed to loose with my first son and I am roughly 30 pounds overweight now. I've never been one to exercise a lot but, I am tired of my body looking the way that it does now. I have wide hips that when I was younger fit into my body shape nicely....now they just look horrible to me. I am wanting the loose the weight and tone up what muscles I have neglected over the years. I am doing this because I am reaching the age that my mother was when she was diagnosed as a diabetic and with me having low blood sugar I know the potential for it to turn and me become a diabetic is there. I need to tone up my stomach, hips, thighs and buttocks but I am not certain what type of exercises I need to do, how many times a week I need to do them or how much is too much. My husband has recently gotten the power 90 X program and I am anxious to begin this routine. I also have some TaeBo(sp?) workouts. Which program would be the best and what supplements if any do I need to take and since I am already on a diet high in complex carbohydrates(for my low blood sugar) do I need to change my diet or add to it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
