I just brought 2 new pair of shoes to replace my old NB 702's (really old), I had been running in the old ones of and one for almost 5 years. Inconsistently, as in like once a year. I just started again but now I'm very serious. I replaced the shoes because they (1) were old as hell, were causing me shin pain. I got two new pairs of shoes- NB 800's and Mizuno wave Percision 8's. I have not yet used the NBs because they are trail shoes that i was replacing the 702's with and thery are really not meant for the street. the Mizunos feel great but oddly i would rater be wearing my old NBs simply because the Mizunos hurt to run in, the pain is unreal i'm not sure if it's the fact that i'm adjusting to the new shoes of if the shoes are prompting me to run faster and burn out quicker. before i switched i could run 7 mi with no problem, now 3 mi is a struggle. i don't understand. so here's the three:
(1) are the shoes making me go fastest unintentionally?
(2) how long does it take to adjust to new shoes?
(3) I'm running a 5k in two weeks, should i run in my old shoes?
