Default A Different Kind of Challenge

Hello Ladies. I am new to this site, and look forward to getting lots of good info from women who are in great shape.

My goal for next year is to complete the Extreme Navy SEAL Challenge, which is a weekend workshop conducted by a team of former Navy SEALs. It's main purpose is to prepare young men who want to be Navy SEALS, by giving them as close to the real experience of SEAL training as possible. The good news is that, unlike the actual SEALs, this workshop is not closed to women, and there are lots of folks who try it, just to see what they can do. I am former military, and always thought it was wrong that women are not allowed to compete to be SEALs (still do). So this is my chance to see what I can do.

The challenge involves 36 straight hours of extreme mental and physical stress, that takes you to your limits and beyond. So for the next 14 months, it's all going to be about preparing for this challenge. I will need to dramatically improve my upper body strength (pull ups and push ups), and also increase my overall stamina.

Has anyone on this site done anything liek this, or has any suggestions about improving pull ups (besides just doing more of them)? Are there any other ladies that would be interested in this kind of challenge. Online workout buddies are always appreciated.
