Default Rode in my First Century Ride today!

Well, today I rode in the Menominee River Century ride, there were people here from 12 states! From amateur to non human roadies alike.
MRCRide.com - Menominee River Century Ride... Since 1982.

I set out to do the 40K loop, but at the junction that separated the 15k from the 40k....well, I turned and went the 15k route. My oldest son would have ridden with me but he volunteered to work at the after race picnic tent. I would have enjoyed his company, but I am proud of him for helping out the local Boys and Girls Club at this event.

I did meet up with a nice lady and her daughter along the route and had a pleasant conversation with them after the ride. It was the young ladies 14th Birthday today too! Other items of note, I think I saw every type of bike there is, including a Quad bike that seats, you guessed it, 4 people. A whole family rides that thing and the dad was telling us how the 4 of them pedaling together makes riding in the wind very easy. More legs, more torque, less trouble in a head wind and more speed downwind....with less physical exertion!

This is a great ride and next year I swear -
1) I will be more ready for the ride in terms of conditioning etc...
2) I will do the 40k loop and
3) I will pray daily that I am able to do this ride next year.

Last year and the year before I had to be out of town during this ride. Before that, I either didn't have a bike or the bike I had was a P.O.S.

The only downside was I saw more people than I ever wanted to, in spandex that should not ought to be wearing spandex....
