can I circuit train and do weights on alternate days?
Hi there. I am wondering if I could do a program like this:
Mon. - circuit train
Tues.-back/chest/abs
Wed.-circuit train
Thurs.-tri's/bi's/shoulders
Fri-legs/abs
I love circuit training, but don't want to stress the muscles I'm using to lift weights on my actual weight training days. Is this ok? If not, does anyone have a circuit training cardio program? (i.e. treadmill, elliptical trainer, stepper, bike)
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by circuit training. If you mean a circuit through machines (the common use of the term), then I don't see the point of doing machines one day and weights the next. It would be better to just do cardio one day and weights the next.
For cardio, mix it up. Stair climber, elliptical, teadmill, bike, etc. Do some HIIT, tabata, or whatever. Or combine it all.

My circuit consists of skipping, jogging, jumping jacks (things like that) as well as squats, lateral raises, bicep curls all done quickly and with light weights.

I like the idea of doing a cardio circuit, great way to mix things up and keep it fresh. I wouldn't mix in the weights with that, tho', even with light weights. You could risk overtraining and injury.

I had to have our dog put down in April ( She was 12 and got sick really fast and was not saveable ( We did have her on glucosamine for a long time.
We just got a golden retriever 6 weeks ago. She turned 3 months old yesterday.
