I think the only difference between running and jogging is the speed at which you put one foot in front of the other and the distance between each stride. Do what you can, and do it a little better each week. Do some simple stretching before (forward lunges held for 20-30 secs. - and some calf raises (stand on a 2x4 with your toes and press up standing on your toes 15-20 slowly), and after a cool down walk do a complete stretch of all major muscle groups including hips, core, upper torso, arms and neck. And, drink plenty of fuilds.

it depends on the amount of calories and heart rate you intend to work with. running obviously burning more cals opposed to jogging and higher heart rate also. im a runner myself and i utilize all aspects of it in my training sprinting, fast paced run, jogging, and cool down walk. stretching before hand and after.

just slowly increase your time on every session and you will obtain your goal sooner then you think. then it will be time to increase your goals again. mix it up a bit also go for a run outdoors also if weather permits. different enviroment and cleaner air opposed to a gym.
