How to lose ten lbs in 10 days?
I know it's not healthy, but I need to make weight for a judo competition, and as soon as I get to the weight I'll be healthy once again.

Cut all source of carbohydrate for 5 days, especially bread/sugar/bagel/rice ... drink 2 gal of water / day. Take a competition approved diuretic the last 2 days before weighting in, and cut water to a trickle. Straight after weighting, drink up and take carbs. You gonna go up 2 or 3 lbs instantly, but it won't matter, you're weighted.

Exactly... Cut out ALL carbs and stick to a primarily liquid protein (god that sounds wrong) diet.
If you're not close by day 5, look into taking something to uh 'flush' yourself out. Not pleasant, but it's a easy 2lbs.
2 days prior you're going to be on nothing but ice chips, kept to maybe 2 cups of water a day. Lots of time in a sauna just sweating it out.
Be careful with big carb intake after weighin, you might get a crazy sugar rush, but get a lot of liquids in pretty quickly.
It's not healthy or permanent, but it gets the job done in the short term.

Stop eating sodium - easy 3-5 pounds of water right there. And everything else they said.
On a similar note, does anyone else think that weigh-in should be something like 4 minutes before the fight? Have everyone fight at their "regular" weight.

now pliny, im not one to disagree with you (hahah )
but wouldnt that be fair to have a weigh in right before a fight? i mean you wouldnt have the 200lbs guys fighting the 170lb guys in squash matches. wheres the fun in that

i think this was a joke but in case its not
he needs to have fuel as he is going to be competing in a judo competition. If he doesnt eat any nutrients he will loose strength and stamina. Leptin hormone will be decreased signaling the body into starvation and thus packing anything ingested on immediately as fat cells, halting metabolism. He still needs water during that period and would just bloat.

It's the same as 'is it right to test for gears in cycling?' Since they all do the same amount of 'cheating', where's the difference?

Well, almost but not quite - if weigh-in's held right before, fighters have the option of trying to diet/de-salt/de-carb as much as they want, running the risk that they'll step in against a guy who's is decently smaller, but better prepared. Also, probably not the same risk of having people that are actually 15 or so pounds heavier fighting in a lighter class (I don't remember the names, but this happened a few years ago, down in Texas, I think - the lighter fighter got brain damaged -- just much too small to fight a guy who was nominally the same weight). Also, it just adds another element of gamesmanship.
I'd take it all back if we could just get a few undisputed champions together, though. I hate having 43 different organizations out there.

I dunno, if I did, I'd have specified one. I suggest you ask your coach
