Ecto bodybuilder has questions about cardio
I'd like to clear up some misconceptions and ask some questions i've been having about cardio for along time.
I'm an ectomorphic body type and gaining muscle and keeping it on is a MONUMENTAL task for me. I have a fair amount of body fat and i really think i need to start doing cardio. For the past 2 years i've only done weights and iam fairly big now at 190 but i have too much body fat.
My goal is to cut body fat but KEEP ALL my muscle in the process. I've heard from many people that once all your food storage is used up as energy your body starts eating the muscle to fuel itself. That idea scares the living hell out of me and hence i have never done a cardio session.
How can I keep all my hard earned muscle and shed some pounds of fat? Should i have a full or empty stomach when i start cardio? When should i do my cardio, on weight lifting days or rest days? What type of food should i eat before a cardio session and after one? Please keep in mind my body type.
I'm 6' 190 pounds and iam estimating myself at like 13'ish% bodyfat
