Health and Fitness articles
I've setup some auto feeds to pull in what I hope are useful article links - interested to hear what people think, I've put most of them into their own forums and the feeds seem very relative to the kinds of issues we talk about here.

Thanks FP!! I think it's a great idea especially after recent comments made by 'the peanut gallery', lol!! This will keep them busy reading for a while!
Seriously though, great topics that do seem to cover alot of the interests of the boards....

I seem to get the impression that you are offended by the opinions stated by me the poster...oh well, whateva!
Opinion's are like___holes, we've all got one.......and if we didn't, we'd stagnate and die!

Although I like the idea of access to some interesting articles, it makes it very difficult to wade through the new posts. Now there are more than a hundred each day.

I think I'm in the middle, I agree with Toonces, with 100's comming in daily it's hard to get through them. with that said though, I have looked over a few I thought were pertinent to me and was happy I did.

It's just the first run where I grabbed the latest stuff; I don't expect more than a few articles a day and if there are more than that, I can throttle it back so there are only a couple a day.
I don't want to clutter the site, just trying to bring in relative content that people might find interesting.

Two Questions..
What tool did you use to create this feed? At my job we use a really cool tool called yahoo pipes, we actually use a custom pipe that our programmer designed. It goes out and grabs multiple feeds based on your supplied keywords "bodybuilding, fat loss, etc..."
Second, is this, in anyway apart of an effort to monetize extremefitness.com? having feeds on your site (like you added) adds more pages.. more pages on your site = more chances to get picked up by google = more chances at visitors = more chance of adsense clicks (which you also recently added adsense... or some type of advertisements..
I'm just curious..
If it is, I could offer some better ideas to monetize the site than just what you've got going on now. I work with this stuff day in and out and I wouldn't mind offering some advice.

It'd be great if you could find a way for them to stay off the "Recent Posts" section of the forum homepage. That used to be my primary way of seeing the new posts since my last visit.
Apart from that, the articles are useful and a positive move.

...or maybe put them in one thread. That is, only if they keep coming like they have been. A few a day wouldn't be so much but I can't find posts by other members in the new posts without going through 15 pages of new posts.

As I said, it was just the initial grabbing of articles that added them in batch. Going forward it will only pick up "new" articles and I will be watching those just to see how frequent they are - I do not expect more than a few a day at most.
vB has an RSS feed grabber; so I am out looking for relative blog/article feeds that are providing content our members would find interesting.

Another batch of updates; not sure why the feed was sticking and got backlogged.
I narrowed down the list to just a handful or so of sites, too.
