Ahhh lmao now the penny drops so to speak, well if your eating a lot of bananas then you will be eating loadsa carbs. A banana is like a little multi purpose battery, the perfect fruit lol. Take a look at the info below.
Nutritional Value (per 100gm)
Energy 95 kcal
Fat 0.3g
Water 75.1g
Carbohydrate 23.2g
of which :
Starch 2.3g
Sugars 20.9g
I think if you are attempting to keep to the velocity diet as close as possible you need to rethink your banana intake if you are indeed eating "loads". They are loaded with carbs.
When i was originally on this diet you were hungry - i mean FOCK ME im hungry. You do this without food and stay on the specified liquids you have a hunger like ive never had before. All those people that have done this and said it was a walk in the park are basically talking thru there rear.
I am still on my own version of this diet, i have changed some of the shakes for food which me and the wife painstakingly spent hours on researching the nutritional values of the correct types of food and weight to proved a "shake" match and to provide enough variety to prolong this diet. Also upping the carbs to about 150grams a day has helped, 100 wasnt enough for me.
Put it this way 200grams of bananas and a protein shake would make a perfect post workout meal if you want to keep carbs and protein to 2:1.

Guys I would also like to add that I have pretty much been on this diet before without realizing it. I didn't really do the shakes but a couple of times a day, but I did chicked breast. The kind of chicken breast I was eating has 0 grams of sat. fat, 0 grams of carbs, 100 calories, and 24g of protein per serving. I more or less ate chicken 4 times a day and had a couple of shakes.
Now that I am reading this diet I am realizing just how similar what I was doing was to this. I did ZERO cardio and could lose an honest 5 lbs. a week.(given I had around 20 to lose at the time) It worked so effectively for me that I could predict within a half a lb. what i would weigh at the end of a month. Of course I was lifting heavy during all of this.
I will add the only thing I was lacking was the proper post workout nutrition. Therefore I lost a good little bit of my muscle every time I did it. For me with the chicken breast thing, it was not hard at all to stay on this and not stray. I have an extremely strong will power anyway, but I think the solid food of grilled chicken could make this a little easier for some of you guys. Just thought I would share and maybe this will help someone.
PS, I am a slow, unathletic individual. I am prone to gain weight, have a BIG appetite, and a slow natural metabolism. And I still lost an honest 5 lbs a week.
If anyone has any questions about specifics of my diet feel free to PM or ask them here.

i stopped this diet after roughly 12 days. although i did notice a decrease in my stomach you aren't taking in nearly enough carbs and i was tired all the time. i'd come home from my job at 11am and collapse on my bed and sleep for three hours, heard a lot of stuff from my boss too. then again, im at a job where im on my feet all day lifting heavy stuff, if you work in an office you may be able to do this. since i hate coffee i didn't add it into the diet and frankly caffeine isn't good for you anyway.
you aren't getting enough carbs and you must be eating solid foods on any diet. i guess it varies from person to person but this just isn't wise dieting in my opinion. have five or six modest meals every day and do some HIIT cardio with weights and you'll lose just as much weight, if not more. and the weight will actually be fat, not half water which you will gain back after 5 days coming of of the velocity diet.
like i said, it varies from person to person but i found myself tired a lot and frankly getting all your protein from whey isolate isn't smart in my opinion. i'd like to hear from someone who sticks to it for 30 days.
there are plenty of other diets on this site with balanced nutrition that can help you lose probably more than 16 pounds in a month like the pioneer of this diet did. good luck to anyone who completes this. pm me with results.
