Canadian National Criterium Championship in Kamloops (British Columbia)
I’m better at turning my pedals than writing but here we go. Friday night was the 40 km criterium downtown Kamloops. I was wearing the Quebec jersey. That is the jersey of the province of Quebec where I live, the state of Quebec for my friends in US. So, short and fast. I was confident that if the race finished in a bunch sprint, I was gonna win. Tactic cover couple moves without putting to much energy. The only team that I was worried about was Symmetrics. They had 9 good riders on the line. They attacked many many times but, they were always back in the field. I covered the most serious one with Eric Wohlberg and Peter Wedge and others. As soon as I got there everyone stop pedaling, result: everyone back in the field. Finally, I put one of my Quebecers teammate at the front at 10 laps to go to avoid attacks. Awesome job by him ! He cracked at 3 laps to go. Symmetrics tried to lead out their sprinter. One guy started to sprint with 500 meters. I followed him, did the last 2 corners and started to sprint with 250 meters and that was good enough for the victory.
