Riding a bicycle, stationary or outdoors is an excellent way to lose wieght. Of course the more time you spend in the saddle the more wieght you can lose. Furthermore, by increasing the intensity of your saddletime the more calories you will burn. Additional time spent doing body conditioning will help you take off unwanted lbs.

If you are serious about wieght loss, you should attempt to devote a 1/2 hr of ride time at least 5 days a wk. By riding this amount and then supplementing w/ lifting, you will lose at least 2 lbs of fat per month. That may not sound like a lot but you will be increasing your lean muscle mass while reducing your bf%!

What is frustrating is that consumers see "lose wieght fast" ads in the media and expect to lose wieght overnight or a few wks... It takes a long time to lose wieght and convert fat to muscle but it is possible and the longer you follow a regiment workout program, the more fit you will become.
