Default New Ride

Well, with a move to the northeast and a decline in time to mountain bike and after an extensive look at local shops I went out and bought my first street ride. Here it is (except mine is all black instead of blue):

It is a KHS Filte 300. Here's the specs:

I bought about a week ago and it is a much nicer ride to work than the Gary Fisher mountain bike was. The commute is about a mile longer since I can't take the trails anymore, but takes about the same amount of time. Now I am thinking about panniers, courier bags, etc. and thinking about getting into some recreational races. Beign new to the whole road bike thing is great. I am quite enjoying getting out in the air before and after work and lessening the wear and tear on my car (not to mention the gas $$!)

Welcome to the club - that's a nice ride you have! It's easy to get the bug when you find yourself riding a nice bike.

Yeah, it's easy to rack up the bucks, too, on all the other cool things you "need" to go with it.

Yeah no kidding, I'm already thinking about a courier bag, lights of some sort to be more visible on the back roads, need some tights for when it gets colder, gloves, etc, etc, etc and the $$$ list goes on. It's a lot of fun anyway and as my wife said the other day I'm covered for birthday, christmas, etc gifts for a while with the wish list I've got!
