After my last few attempts at drumming up some activity I don't even try anymore.

thasts true ive seen you post on here lots o times. ill start. Florida has a racing season that starts in january, most people dont ride "base miles" because they train all year long due to the warm climate. im in orlando where there are prominent organized teams Team 19(daves world cycles) Atlantic Shores Velo, Orlando Race Club and The Ford Motors team. Rides and races are extremely fast since the terrain is flat, but it seems that the florida natives just put out more effort, its pretty insane but has gotten my speed skills up fast.

-----None of this really matters since many will read it but will post no reply

I like bikes, but I just ride mountain bike for fun/sight seeing.

I almost bought a trek 7.5fx, but Im short on cash so I'm just getting new shox and street tires for my bike. I have already spent the extra $$$.

Biking is awesome! I am not a race enthusiast... I just want to have the ability to bike with my kids to the library, grocery store, post office, etc. Wish I could bike to work but it is too far and dangerous. We really need to build our cities more bike friendly and closer together. If you are similarly inclined, you must visit carfree.com - incredible site!

Yeah, I never did get that spin bike I wanted, and I am late getting started, but it feels great to finally be getting out on the bike. Haven't done any significant rides yet, but I have managed several 15-20 milers in the past week or so.

Weather permitting, I'm hoping to get 35-40 in tomorrow because I know Sunday will be a wash being mother's day and all.

I managed 30 today... was limited by time, but need to get back into the saddle anyways, my butt and back were sore at the end even though I felt strong.

I'll make my first contribution to this website. I have been out riding since late March. I've been going each Saturday for at least 4 1/2 hours. Yesterday I did about 68 miles here in Michigan and got a flat tire at the halfway point of my ride. It took some wrestling, but eventually I got the tube replaced and returned home. I am stiff today but hope to get out tomorrow night for maybe two hours. If I do that, it should put me at 400 miles on the year.

68 miles - very respectable! A group did 100 on Saturday, I'm not so sure I could have done the whole 100.
