Can't seem to catch the fever like I did last year; only been out once. Planning on doing 40 with the wife tomorrow (first time we've ridden together) as she prepares for her fifth IronMan.

Wish I was as into it, but my new schedule seems to be interfering with my higher intensity cardio workouts. I've had to force myself to do more cardio - maybe tomorrow's ride will help.

Sorry to hear about the lack of motivation, Mike... we have all been there before I think.

Its always good to have a training partner to push you to the next level, however, if you are not feeling it, just listen to your music and go at your own pace, don't try to keep up with her...

Some of my best cardio workouts came when I was not very motivated when I started... but then 15 or 20 min in I got into my 'unstoppable' phase and just tore it up... went much harder and further than I expected...

Remember, you still have to work these off MF...

Hang in there, man. Try grabbing some shorter rides to get you back into it. I've found that works when I'm struggling with time and motivation. Sometimes you get so caught up in getting out there for a good 40 mile ride, that it becomes a big hurdle (especially if you feel out of shape for the ride), but a quick 15-20 miler is easy and it helps you to remember why you love riding in the first place.

Now, "hike up yer skirt and get back on the bike for crapsakes!!! "
