Bought a new bike yesterday...
I don't like riding my road bike around my neighborhood, the roads are just too rough for my liking and I have to keep changing position since there is alot of traffic and intersections. I also wouldn't mind hooking up a burley and taking the little boy for a ride; so I got this to make riding in my area easy.....
Got it home and 10 minutes later the front tube exploded, but a quick fix and I'm back in business.

Nice bike! Love the dual disc brakes.
I need to invest in something like this. Riding my mtn bike around the neighborhood reminds me of those lifted mudding jeeps with the huge knobby tyres that hum loudly against the road.

Pretty. I'm starting to think about getting my own tri bike, instead of borrowing a friend's older model, but am holding off due to fear of the car/bike interface.
Gotta get over that, though - probably should just find a car-free, paved path that pedestrians don't like. Without intersections. That should be easy

really nice! yea i also need to start riding again besides just running. my current bike is decent but needed a little work. i got lucky on aquiring it. my brother works for a GM dealership and they occasionally go retrieve wrecked vehicles during bad weather and he was given a really nice all aluminum bike with the disc breaks like that from the owner after towing his vehicle in for him. but i couldnt go wrong on the price 20$ bent front rim and handle bars other then that it is still quite functional.

Mountain bikes are great, especially the monkey tyres, they make your legs grow (or ache ... whichever comes first ). The front damper is a must for short rough rides, and like you, I haven't bothered with a rear one (bounces a bit too much when accelerating or climbing for my liking... And I seem to remember you ain't light either ).
Pliny: bike/car :: tip : get in the fucking way. Ride at least 3 feet away from the pavement. Any tight area, like where there's an island, narrow street where 2 car crossing + you isn't possible, ride in the middle of the lane. They stop if they see you, they squeeze you against the wall if they can pass. Make sure they can't, and it never happens. I cycle everywhere (I can't be arsed driving anymore), I live in the second biggest city of the country, and I have yet to have a problem with a car. Mind taxis though ... They do think it fits where it doesn't

Just for perspective:
this is my road bike; but getting out on it means loading up in the car to drive 20 minutes to the nearest road trail - this new bike will let me ride the neighborhood paths without the whole mess of clipping/unclipping or always moving around to change positions because I keep coming up on intersections every couple minutes.
I'll let you know how the first ride goes - oh, and I paid in the mid-$600s for it, it was an '07 priced around $770 and sold with a 15% discount.

Ive been wanting to get a new bike for a few years now, but alas, I have not the money. Anyways, I don't use a bike to train or anything. I just like riding bikes.
Anyways, your bike looks nice, though.

Good pick up FP, I just bought a Giant Sedona DX myself, to celebrate losing 60 pounds. Comfort bike, front/seat suspensions, hybrid tires, aluminum frame and sexy paint job, but no disc brakes, sadly...but only $380, and a great addition to my cardio selection (especially now that the weather is getting perfect for riding). Rides silent too, goodbye humming mountain bike tires! Anyway, enjoy, see you all on the roads.

Tri bars on a road bike? you are a glutton for punishment.
