Default How effective is biking?

In comparison to basic running/jogging how does biking match up. I usually bike around 10-11 miles per day, on terrain which is a good mix of hills and flat land. I just don't want to be fooling myself, as it usually takes about 45 minutes to do 10 miles.

Well in my opinion, cycling is far more fun, particularly when racing the traffic.

In some ways, probably better. Less impact on joints than running, and you can still get the heart rate way up by doing intervals, etc. Look at the quads on some cyclists, pretty impressive.

Biking is awesome. I find it builds muscle and endurance quite well, and is much easier on the body (minue the groin!) than running
