Hey guys I just signed in.... I love this furom needed loads of info for my training... and so i found it
Im a teenager that has been training in the gym for about 2 years now.... Ive been mostly on stamina and alot of reps because of my martial arts training. After an injury i had to stop my martial arts and ended up trying to gain some musscle. I've been training for musscle these past 5 months, the improvments are good but not great. I've personally trained some students my self on weight loss. That was a total sucsess
My aim is to get big but not ripped... kinda get bulky and strong. I'll be starting boxing next Jannuary any of you guys could hook me up with some training programs and such please? PM me if so thanks

welcome to the EF community!
hey, gsp416, skonie & Kirst!
welcome to the EF community!
as my good reliable buddies, Old_Fart2 & dadouchebag, along with killa_z & adonis would say, start a fitness blog so that we can see what you're doing with your workouts, nutrition & whatever else! as you have already read before, but it doesn't hurt repeating, read the stickies at the top of this forum, as well as those in the Health forums...
good to have you here, and hope to hear from you soon!

Yes its good be here
My training right now is:
Mon: Chest, bisects, forearms
Tue: Shoulder, trisects, Abs
Wed: sometimes I do some cardio, sometimes I take the day off
Thursday: Back, lower back, calves, Abs
Friday: Shoulders, trisects
Now for every major muscle I do 4 exercises with 4 sets each and 3 exercises for the minor muscles. I start the reps with 12,10,8.6
For the back I do 5 exercises though
I don’t do my legs because of my injury… I broke my knee, ripped a muscle and a ligament from the same leg in one week… that’s why I had to stop my martial arts.
But I do some cycling to strengthen my legs

History of the Me, Part I
Hey Everybody.
So here's my deal:
I'm a bit over 5' 10'', 175 lbs, 19 yrs. old, finally have some serious muscle going on. In '03 I hit 250 pounds of straight blubber. But before that, I was around 200 and pretty built and strong, thought I was definitely not what you'd call "lean." After I quit playing baseball I quit lifting and running, and blew up to 250. At some point I decided that would not fly, and starting to lose weight pretty damn fast. Over 70 pounds later, I realized I should have been lifting instead of just dieting and trying to get my figure back. So here I am after losing 70 pounds, trying to get big Well, hindsight's 20-20, right?
Anyhow, I've been hitting the weights hard as hell and revamping a lot of aspects of my daily life, and it's paying off nicely. Currently changing my routine to center around the powerlifting movements, looking to ultimately be more square. Basically, I want the kind of build that's good for knocking stuff over, namely a few select friends of mine
So that's my deal, you won't catch me getting oiled up and flexing on a stage, unless of course there is an bodybuilding audience in dire need of comic relief some place, but I definitely have to thank Adonis and Old Fart2 for the help I've already gotten from many of your old posts. I plan on sticking around for the help and advice around here as I continue to get my self back together.
Thanks in advance to everybody

Well, after searching on google, for some time today, I was trying to find a good online guide to bulk up... so here I am. I ran into a lot of "Buy this product and book and subscibe with us for only $$$$ a month", yeah... okay, you really think I'm gonna do that?! And then I thought I would give a forum search a chance, and here I am now. Thank you all for having me, I am very happy to be a member here and look forward to a great site.
I am 27 and married with a three year old son (three on Nov.27). I live in Colorado. I am 6"4 and 195 lbs. I can eat and eat and not gain an inch or pound of nothing. To keep it simple, my wife calls me her "pune" as in punney... she is happy with me though . I am very tall and very slim and am very insecure about my weight. I would like to have more bulk on me, not over board, just enough so I look good with a decent muscle tone.
If anyone has any suggestions and/or any links for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I know to read the stickies and I will, I just wanna ask if anyone has other info aswell, i.e. books, mags, web links, pills, you know, those kind of things.
Thank you all very much for having me as member, I am very glad to be hear and look forward to sharing my tips in the near future as I progress.
Ray
PS
I don't drink or smoke what so ever, infact the only thing I only drink is water, yep, just water and thats it... no juice or pop or coffee! WATER!!!
I know the higher metabolism one has, the harder it is to gain that bulk, I read that on the net somewhere, thus we "punes" need to work harder for our goal. I am very, very dedicated to making this happen also

New Member here!
Hey all! Was doing a search on supplements and came across this website! Great place. A little about me... I am interested in weight training and just got into it back in July. Always wanted to do more of it but never had time or accessibilty. So I am naturally an ectomorph and my 4.5 years in the Marine Corps kept me pretty lean. I then got out, got married and pretty much sat behind a computer screen for 10 years and just basically became a fat ectomorph. So now I am just trying to get a little cut, build some muscle and shed some pounds. I am 5'09" 170-175 and work out 4x a week! Work in cardio 2x a week and have an OK diet. I take protein supplements (shake) and creatine. Tend to eat a little more fat (pizza) and drink everyonce in a while. Not really looking to give that up but I will suck it up. Sorry the Marine in me just won't let me do it. So just wanted to say thanks for having me and look forward to some more tips!

well........................not exactly a new member, but i am back after a long inter-regnum! school has been killing me as of late, and i've only been able to hit the gym spottily. but come the new year (and new quarter), it will be back to the gym with renewed intensity!!
it's horrible. the few times i've been able to hit the gym the last few months i can almost feel myself atrophy. :/

hey, JarheadRI! welcome to the EF community!
you've come to the right place!
as a marine, you'll understand the need for discipline... so, do you have any particular goals with which your discipline will help? if you haven't already, check out the stickies in the forums...
glad to have you here...

Hi all, I just registered after lurking on this site for a bit. I found this site while trying to look for information about general fitness and strength training.
A little bit about myself I'm 19 6'1 and about 200 pounds. Although I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week, I hit a rut after a bit of depression which destroyed my workout and basically left me sitting at home most of the day. Although I didn't gain that much weight, I replaced most muscle I had gained with fat.
As of now I don't do too much activity but I do a self defence class 2x a week. I was looking around the posted workouts here and thinking about trying one and modifying it slighty. As of now, with finals coming with school and work I am a little stripped of time but I plan to start a strict regimented workout and deit as of 01/01/06
My goals are to try to drop my bf to 8-10% but maintain weight around 210-220
As of yet I haven't set any weight goals, but as I come closer to the new year I plan to have my entire set of goals and my workout plan posted as I think I'll make a day by day workout journal once I start to help motivate me.

Just found this site. I'm intrigued but a bit wary, because I prefer to do my learning by watching people or trying things myself. But every little bit helps. And I'm also curious about the idea of extreme fitness... it'd be cool to talk with people who are into total fitness, and not just lifting or running...
I'm a classic lanky college kid (6'2'', 157lbs), thin but strong, work out as regularly as possible with the ever-changing college schedule. Lately, though, I'm bored with the usual weight-room routine. I saw a video of a breakdancer named Junior (anyone heard of him?) and became obsessed with the idea of using unorthodox means to gain true fitness. So, then I learned about free running (parkour) and I found a sight about body-weight fitness training. Ever since, I've been practicing my way towards doing a planche; I can hold it for about a second now.
If anyone out there wants to gain muscle but can't, I feel your pain. I know the classic advice (just eat more!) and I also know it's hard. I'm on a meal plan, so freshman year I ate double portions at every dinner and only gained a coupla pounds.
Here's to being fit for life!
