Hi everybody,
I'm from Sweden and I'm 29.
I've been exercising most of my life, playing hockey at a young age but hating the skates - leaving it for tennis which I played for many years. I also have a father who is crazy about sports who has encouraged me to run (and also do some cross-country skiing), so I've run a couple of half-marathons and other semi-long-distance races in my days.
However, I've always suspected that my body is more of a gym body than a runner's body - so in recent years I've started to go to the gym. I'm still kind of fumbling with the exercises and workout programs - it seems there are about as many ways to build muscles as there are people on the planet.
I go to the gym to look good. I don't go to the gym to look good
at the gym, but to look good
outside of the gym as a result of what I do
in the gym. I have no need to impress anyone at the gym with how much I lift, I only compete with myself. I put on as much as I can and lift my weights quickly then lower them slowly. I measure progress with the help of a mirror rather than a scale. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I'm diligent but not obsessive.
I'm looking to become bigger - more robust - but not enormous. That's my first goal. Maybe I'll attempt to reduce my body fat down the line but not right now. I'm currently on creatine powder to see if that helps.
I need more knowledge regarding exercises (piecing together an allround-program using free weights and compound movements), and I'm particularily interested in finding some effective pec exercises. My biggest problem right now is the fact that I almost never eat breakfast and that I eat my other meals at odd times during the day. I definately need more discipline when it comes to diet.
Besides fitness training, I like music, movies and videogames.
So that's me.
