MM...that's my point exactly. My form wasn't bad...I use to preacher curl 110, not rock my upper body or bend my wrists in. I also would kneel down when I did bicep curls as that keeps you from rocking (try it if you haven't) but the simple squeezing of the elbows against the wall and against my side made an incredible difference.
With the V-bar on the tri pressdown, pinch your shoulder blades together and as you press down, DRIVE your elbows into your side. I use to do pressdowns with my elbows against my side but never squeezed them into my side. I forgot to add that when you do the tricep pulldown, pull your elbows back as well, like your doing a seated row.
I never compromised form for weight...I don't go to the gym to impress anyone. The best quote I ever heard was from this one rather large dude who was benching 315 with ease. It was obvious he could do more. Some high school kid went up to him and asked "How much can you bench press?" and the guy answered "Enough to make me grow". Great response and so true.

If you start a blog, I think I'll follow it religiously...this guy seems to know what he's doing with that L-ROME stuff that I saw on his website...besides, about that light weight stuff, don't sweat it...big weights are for guys with big egos rather than 'big' strength.

OK!! I will start a blog logging this new routine. Last night was only a primer and we didn't do that much but he introduced me to his approach. I was a bit hesitant posting what I would be doing because another board I belong to would be all over me for not lifting heavy weights, low volume. I'm 42 years old, I don't plan to compete and all I want to do is get into great shape...this guy said he could do it. He said he could also get me off my blood pressure meds which would be fantastic.

Just an update...tonight is my third session with this guy and I think I am going to signup for three more. I will start the blog this weekend. What is going to be hard is explaining the movements he has me do. It's not like the old days with like benching I would say something like:
2X8X225
1X3X315
Benching he had me do only 135lbs. I unracked the weight and brought down until me upper arms were almost parallel to the floor. All I did for movement was contract the muscle in my pecs so the bar only moved a few inches. I call them pec shrugs cause that is what it felt like. Anyways you do this SLOOOWWW...2 seconds up, SQUEEZE your pecs even more, and then 2 seconds down. I did 2 sets of 10 and was actually shaking...with only 135lbs!! I was pretty sore the next day so I was definitely working it. In my blog I will try to expain the best I can the movements he has me doing. By the way, for the guys with shoulder problems I think you should give this a try...really hits the pecs but doesn't put much strain on the shoulders.
