Looking for weights
Its been a while since I posted here. I still lurk every now and again. ive been really busy. Too busy. In fact, i havent had a good solid workout since the end of June. Ive finally gotten sick of not doing anything and im eager to get back into the groove.
I posted a question a while back about the differences between going to a gym and setting up a workout area at home. Well, i decided to start working out at home after realizing the Y was infested with old people and the hardcore gym in town is kinda shitty to begin with. I've got a hold of a pretty good bench but Im lacking the weights. So here's my question.....
Im wondering if any of you guys might know where I can get an Olympic style weight set......300lbs of plates and including the bar. Keep in mind, TYN MAN is Canadian. Ive searched around online and i feel miss-lead with the prices. I dont wanna pay though the nose...especially for ground shipping. Does anyone here know where I might find this product?
Any insite would be a big help. Im dying to get under some weights and let out some pent up rage.
thanks guys.

They have a "Dick's Sports" or "Play it Again" in canada? You can probably find a great deal online but it will cost or ass in shipping. Any decent fitness stores where you are at?

Something wrong with that???
Seriously, though, we have a used sporting goods store here where you can get some great deals on all kinds of weight equipment. If you're in or near a big city, I'll bet there's something similar there.
Otherwise, follow Killa's advice, just join a gym. It really doesn't make any difference who you work out around; just bust ass.

Go to a play it again sports, as falcon said, we have those. You may also want to check out foremost fitness if you live in toronto, they have decent prices. Ebay is a good call, but I would suggest running an ad in the local newspaper saying you are looking for a weight set. Im sure someone will see it and call you.

Play it Again Sports is the same one we have here! All the way from Canada to Texas!
Good advice about the ad; how many weight sets have you seen in garage sales? People buy that stuff, then never use it.

YA but advertise that you want it, and the wife who wants to get rid of it will call you up and get rid of her husbands old weight set, he said he would use.

good call on the ad Adonis. If im not mistaken, i think there was a Play It Again Sports store down in london. Im pretty much a 2-3 hour drive to anywhere seeing how i live near Collingwood.
3 months ago i would have taken Killa's advice and gone to the gym but after seeing the Y and realizing it was over run with old people who just go to socialize (no offence old fart!)....i just decided to stay home.
I'll keep my eye's peeled tho. thanks for the replys gents.
