Default Dumbbell press with a twist at the top

When doing dummbbell presses some people turn the dumbbells at the top so that their palms face each other.
Does this twist at the top benefit any specific muscle group or provide any benefits muscle/strength wise?
I was thinking that there would be some effect on the forearms but aside from tha I am not sure.

Thanks.

It gives an extra contraction at the top of the movement. You can accomplish the same thing by just sqeezing your pecs at the top. I would worry about the rotation of the shoulder when turning your palms.

On dumbbell presses, I mix things up to keep things from getting boring, and also to add additional stress to the pecs. I do 3 sets of 8.

First set, I do presses as if on the bench with palms facing outward (toward my feet).
Second set, I do presses with palms facing inward toward one another.
Third set, I do presses starting with palms facing inward and rotating outward as I'm pressing.

I've been doing it this way for several years now. Any thoughts?

It doesn't effectively do much at all, much like clanging the dumbbells together at the top. Rotational movement are weakly supported by the pec in that position, so think of it as a rotator cuff exercise.
