Wrist weights/ankle weights/body weights
I just found out that they do these weights were you are able to strap them on your wrists/ankle's and other parts of your body, i thought about it and it seems like a good idea.
I go to college and thought it would be a good idea to strap them on through the day and see what happens, i do quite alot of walking and moving my arms and by adding an extra 10Kg of weight onto myself throughout the day would it increase my muscle mass or strength?
I'd like some information of someone who has tried them before or has read any reports about them if there any use at all but seriously any input that anyone puts in i will appreciate it.
Thx

you should get more rips in your muscle as your lifting "light" weights. unfortunately I dont think it'll increase muscle mass because it won't be heavy enough to stimulate your muscle to grow in that way.
Have you ever done weights before?
I'll be happy to hear what everyone else has to say about this....

I'm not an expert so hopefully one will chime in later I don't know that it would significantly increase your muscle mass or strength unless you are just beginning the weight training game, and even then not by much. It would seem to me however, that your "endurance" strength (ability of your muscles to work for longer periods without becoming as fatigued) would be increased by using these kind of weights. It could also have a cardio benefit depending on how far you walk between resting periods (between classes, to housing, that kind of thing).

Back when I was at school a friend of mine tried these ankle and wrist weights, with worrying results. He wore them when walking around, and while shooting hoops, and developed pains in his joints. After visiting the doctors he was warned that the stress being applied by these aparatus was almost certainly to blame for troubles he was having with his knees and ankles. In fact the problem became troubling enough that he had to sit out all sport for the final term. Just thought I'd post my limited experience with these devices...

yea i heard the ankle weights werent good for you.
they got wrist and vest weights though.
havent tried them but i think its more for a speed/strength thing.
more on speed than strength.
i know its just a cartoon but goku from dragonball wore weighted shoes, bands, uniform etc.
he was faster when he took them off.

Wearing ankle weights like that are a sure way to injure ur knee although they do increase ur speed. I used to wear them and stride around the running tracks, and they do increase ur speed but i usually used it only when training, after that i will take it off.

I would think that if you're training adequately, then adding any significant load to your arms all day long would be counterproductive for muscle growth. I'd say lift when you lift, and learn all you can about recovery.
