Default not lifting enough

I really like working out, but something that really discourages me
is when I see kids @ my school who are younger than me and skinnier
than me lifting like 50-100lbs more than me. I'm not a small kid. I'm 5'9
165lbs. When I'm in the weight room I'll rep 135 flat bench.. and my max
is around 175.. then i'll see kids who are like tall and skinny like 130-140lbs
and they'll be benching like 200lbs and it discourages the hell out of me.
I just tell myself "well i know i can kick their ass, thats all that matters "
lol jk.. Am I doing something wrong?

one thing that however did encourage me was @ the begining of weight training
I was maxing out 145lbs and i could do 2 reps with it sometimes. Now I can do between 8 and 10. Maybe some of my problem is in my head? Anyway Im starting
Adonis' 4 day total body plan tommorow, would this be right for me? I've read good thigns abotu it.

watch them bench. Usuelly some of these kids are probabbly using bad form, not bringing it down all the way to their chest, thinds like that.

If strength is your first priority, then do like a powerlifter: Work in reps of (usually) 6 and lower, and aim to use over 90% of your 1RM (one rep maximum) for rows, squats, deadlifts, bench, and other compound movements as the bulk of your workout.

If you are running into a plateau, make sure that you've given yourself a week off after every 8-12 weeks of training.

I did Adonis' 4 Day too, I really liked it. Just don't be embarassed on "explosive" day or "endurance" day when you have to use light weight.

Last, don't sacrifice form to move bigger weight in front of everybody else. Most of those guys you're talking about will be the same size and move the same weight in ten years (and will probably all have shoulder, knee, and lower back injuries, which they will talk about everytime someone walks past them in the gym), and that's the difference.

I would start with the 3 day total body as you are definatly a begginer to weight training.

After a year or so, try the 4 day!

you should never go by any standards except your own, and dont make comparisons with others

keep at what your doing properly and you'll get better than them all

I would suggest doing weights in th 6 to 8 reps range, once u can do eight increase the weight. Increase or decrease the numbers of sets to suit ur intensity.
