I don't train my legs because they're fine... and if they get any bigger my pants won't fit.

actually this isnt the proper thread for a response such as this but i have 2 bite towards this one, your post got me hook line and sinker....lol
out of curiousity i find lots of people in the beginning feeling their legs are big enough so they dont train them. one thing they all have in common is sure they may have decent sized legs but cant squat or dead anything considered a decent amount. lack of leg work even affects bench and everything else not allowing your body to its fullest potentials.
thats still no reason not to train them, you can always step up the cardio with running and keep them from growing any bigger with this method after workouts. i have to were relaxed fit or baggy fit in order to fit my legs in jeans. are you the same way or are you still in normal straight leg jeans?

I haven't had any extra cash to get new clothes in like a year, my pants are skin tight around my thighs. If I fall out of bed head first, I land on my feet.
A little back story, I worked my legs as a kid to teen, they grew like crazy (unlike the rest) and still outclass the rest of me as far as size is concerned (thigh and calves), and I didn't know what I was doing back then. I feel I have to be careful not to outgrow my job, I don't think they'd let me work in bike shorts.
I'm not a fan of baggy clothes but may have to give in a bit this year (hehe they don't still make those zebra pants do they?) as I finally get ahead of the curve at work and in accumulated home equipment. My new mantra is slacks are more forgiving than jeans.
In the mean time I've built some nice guns and made solid progress on my chest and back, legs or no legs. Working your legs is best but I don't think it's a total waste to work what you can. Or choose to have stick-like legs if that gets you off.

For you guys with thunder thighs looking for comfortable workout pants, I like to wear Physique Bodyware baggies. I wear them almost everywhere inside and outside of the gym. You can have a look at their products here:
Mens Pants, Mens & Womens Workout & Exercise Clothes USA
For the record, I don't work for Physique Bodyware. I just a satisfied customer.

World Health Club
I hate the trainers who, it seems to me by their choice of movements for clients, got their "certificate" through a correspondence course. There is a skinny-ass trainer at my gym who must weigh only 150 lb.s yet he put on two pies a side for a free squat. Only to unrack the weight and literally unlock his kness and in essence that being his rep. There is also another trainer whom I have seen many times texting on his cell WHILE he is working with clients. There is another trainer who I have seen get repeatedly fatter and fatter over the years that I have been a member. And what's with all the frickin' ballwork and this machine with cables that has adjustable arms and adjustable heights and angles of the arms. Do trainers even know what free weights are anymore and what they can actually do? Isn't there some governing body in place to get rid of these useless and grossly-apparent dangerous trainers? I have sent many complaints to World Health Club and received NO feedback whatsoever.
Another peve. There is a stcoky guy who piled on the plates on the angle leg-press. I knew he wasn't doing complete rep.s but then I walked over and he wasn't even unlocking the "catches". He was literally just straightening his legs!!! The same guy....I couldn't believe this when I saw it, had a bar acrosss his shoulders with three pies a side....AND he was doing torso twists? I was PRAYING for something to happen. Seriously, was he not ASKING for something to happen? This is where Darwinism comes into play...just not quickly or often enough.
Maybe I'll just write a book.
Cheers!!!

I 2 am naturally gifted in having big legs and it came in handy during high school in the 440, mile, and 2 mile runs. it seemed know matter what i did, excessive cardio even they got bigger.....lol im forced to wear jeans such as arizona relaxed or baggy fit. they fit my legs nicely and have an normal ass to them. levis has a few relaxed fit also amongst many others and they fit nicely allowing even some stretching if need be in them so that shows they arent tight at all.
there are guys with natural big upper bodys and some have naturally big lowers. very few have the complete pkg though. that requires work. lots of running helps keep my size down on the legs, and besides its good for the heart and lungs. do what you gotta do guy but dont sacrifice leg work 2 long. you want the upper body to grow well, leg work releases growth hormone wich wont be released without the leg work in the quantitys needed for good growth. thats a proven scientific fact all experienced lifters know.

That guy should be very careful about what he's doing. Maybe you could be the first one to warn him about doing that, before he ends up in a wheelchair. Chris Cormier (I assume all of you are familiar with him) crushed three vertebrae in his neck just from turning his head to the side to get a good look at a girl while performing Squats with heavy weight. If it's that easy to crush three vertebrae from twisting your neck, imagine what you could do from twisting your entire body!

A thing that bothers me is when people take joking too far.
I was lifting with some of my friends and I was doing my sets for deadlifts. I was doing my first couple of sets and my friend kept calling out "noob!" after each rep. That just got me angry. I appreciate the jokes but sometimes it's just too much, especially considering he never does deadlifts.
Also another thing that's a little bothersome is when my friend's friend (I used to be friends with him but he turned out to be an unhappy asshole) kept joking around and being like "jeez, only deadlifting 210? I can do 500." When he can barely do a good rep at 65 lbs. It was funny the first couple of times he said it, especially to a guy doing like 400 lbs to impress some girls, but he just kinda killed it and it got annoying real fast.
I guess my point is, the people who joke around too much and talk smack without anything to back it up piss me off.
What I would like to see though is proper motivation instead of talk-down-to-you-drill-sergeant motivation.

The "inspirational" people who butt in and want to spot you or cheer you on, usually using the term "brother" in the process.

I workout at my college gym. There are so many girls who devote entire workouts to try to spot train abs. I want to tell them they will have nicer abs if they just lift legs, and stop eating bad. It's funny though, most girls that I have told just don't buy it. Lol whatever then do what you want girlfriend...

I know a real easy way to get them to be quiet
(hint: it involves putting the weights on a bar and staring at the talker - if they don't go for it, put some cash down on the station. you'll never have to hear from them again)

Uh did he manage a full ROM, that looks quite dangerous to me, i tot windmill (another name for torso twist) is supposed to be done with just the bar or even a broomstick would suffice. I always tot the windmill is for trunk flexibilty and not strenght?

I know that most of you guys covered all of the obvious. I happen to be one of those OCD guys that have to put other people's plates away. I cannot lift on a rack or bench if there is crap all over the floor. It also bugs when they just sit between reps for almost 10-12 minutes before doing another set. Damn, move on dude! ANd lastly, maybe it's not a gym thing, but all the wet clothes/towels left on the benches in the locker rooms. It's nasty and most men's locker rooms do not need any more help smelling bad. Move on!
Thanks for the post. I feel better now.

basically telling them to prove it by placing the weight on the bar and when they won't then betting them they can't, it shuts them up fast
