My caffeine intake is actually quite low. I somtimes will have a coffee or cola around 3:00 (15:00) but that is just so I am not completely wiped when In start lifing around 4:30 (16:30.)
I really have 2 issues. Making myself go to bed, and having a sound sleep. The first I can deal with, the second is what the Rhodiola is supposed to help.

Well I'm taking the week off because I have to take the week befor easter off so if I want to take a bit of a break, this is pretty much my last chance. The last time I took a week off was Christmas and I did notice some insane intensity after that week off and since my intensity has been dying I decided it was time again.
I have to check tonight if I have made any progress in the last 3 weeks. I only have about 5 weeks after this little break to build as much muscle as possible before I decide to start dropping my bodyfat. My decision is to make little alterations to what I'm doing or change things drastically.
Any suggestions are always appreciated.

Hi All,
On the week off and very little in terms of gains
Part > Vs Last > Vs Start
Bicep > +1/8 > +1 3/8 (Past goal)
Chest > 0 > +1 7/8 (1/8 off goal)
Calf > +1/8 > + 7/8 (still work to do)
Quad > 0 > +1 1/2 (reached goal early)
So after my week off My goal for the next 5 weeks is a 1/4 inch everywhere.
But the question is how and I've got a thought. I was thinking of 5X5 but thought it would take too long as I don't have a lot of time some days. I remember reading about this somewhere and thought I'd give it a try.
The set goes like so : 5 Rep - big weights, 8 Rep - Medium, 12 rep - Lighter. I'll probably know buy the end of the first week if it makes me feel like its working. Might have to go out and buy some more weights though.

Well that week of certainly felt good when I started up again on Sunday. Intensity and strength were all were they should be.
Tried out my new Workout and I'll have to say that if soreness means its working then DAMN, its working! Chest was Sunday and Im still feeling it and biceps last night and they are not my friends today. But man, its a good hurt!

Did you change anything besides the rep scheme for your new routine?
Any new exercises, etc..?

Nope, Just a the rep sceme and weights. I'll probably be making some changes on back day and leg day because I'm running out of weight to do the changed rep scheme but haven't made any changes other than that so far.

Dude's getting too strong that he's running out of weights.
Can you find anything on craigslist in Canada? I see weight sets on there all the time in my area.

I've been watching. Once I saw a banch and eazycurl bar for $25 but I already one of each. I so see a lot of concrete weights but don't like 'em so I'm watching for metal ones. I live is a smaller town so selection is limited. I have to go to one of the nearby Cities for work later this month so I might watch if there's anything there.
And by the way, you don't need to be that strong to outlift the weights that I have.

Start of the 2nd week with the new workout. Last night was chest and today I'm not really that sore. After the workout my chest just looked huge though. Wife kept grabbing it.
I am battling an injury now. Friday morning, the morning after volleyball, I was sitting on the bed wishing I didn't have to work and then I got up and walked toward the kitchen. When I got there, it felt like somone stabbed the outside of my hip. pain has been coming and going since then. Scary though. Think I might get an appointment with my wife's chiropractor.

Does the pain feel like it's in the muscle or the joint?
I guess either way, since it's been bothering you for 3 days, it's probably best to get it checked.

I don't remember anything happenning. the night before I played volleyball for a little over an hour and felt great. before that in the morning I felt great. It just seemed to be random. I was feeling better on Saturday until I walked the dogs. the bigger one joted me a bit and the pain came back. Right now if I twist, I feel it so I try to just walk straight and I'm gonna skip hockey tomorrow.

I think its the joint. It kind of feels like when you have a kink n your neck except its my leg. Thats why I'm thinking of going to the chiropractor.

So my Hip pain cleared up but I still didn't get to work my legs at all last week. Didn't get to see anybody about it because I kept forgetting to make an appointment. I am going to get checked out by a chiropractor tomorrow and a Physician at the end of the month.
Anyway's back to the lifting. Yesterday was bad. I just didn't have the strength. but after pouting for a couple minutes I came to a real realisation: If you're going to spend your Saturday night smoking cigars and drinking, you can't expect to have a quality linfting session on Sunday.

Sometimes reality bites.
But still... even a "bad" workout is better than no workout at all. Good job sticking with it rather than slacking off when not feeling 100%.

Had a good day yesterday with the biceps but I'm gonna miss legs again tonight as the Chiropractor said not to lift anything heavy. I'll try to put legs in with back on Thursday I guess. He Tells me I had a twisted pelvis and thats why I had the pain.
I guess I'm back at'er tomorrow. Probably just as well since I am pretty tired today.
