That is one HARD workout. There's definitely something to be said for higher volume training, especially on legs which have muscle fiber content that is tuned toward higher rep activities (walking). Thanks forbb!

So treat the legs differently than say bi-ceps? Is this a leg specific situation or is it the same for all larger groups like Lats?

I will have to find some of the material, but I think that the composition of some muscles differs from others based upon frequency of usage. Legs and abs are typically engaged more frequently than, say, biceps, so it would make sense that they would have muscle fibers more biased toward frequent usage. Thus, it makes sense that engaging and fatiguing the endurance-oriented fibers would be beneficial in making the legs larger overall. Low-rep, high-weight exercises are effective for the fibers that they are targeted toward, but check out the quads of pro cyclists or olympic figure skaters.. they (especially the latter) often have superb development primarily from high-rep exercises.

It may be a good idea to schedule a day or two of rest after this workout.

Yeah, right. More like a month.
