What muscle group needs the most work on your body
Hi All,
Thought I 'd start this poll. I just used groups or there would be a long list of muscles to go through.
Mine is back. It sucks but I hope I can change that this summer. I'm also not real happy with my chest but its not too bad.

With me it's legs, and it's all mental. I have had three knee operations ( acl, mcl, miniscus tear) I have heal spurs, and a partial tear in the ligament sheath behind the left heel. I know that football players recover from these types of surgeries all the time but my head prevents me from going heavy, I imagine all kinds of lateral shear when I do squats (even though I use a brace) I know it's in my head but not being able to walk would be a disaster.
I have no problem going shirtless. Waist up i'm pretty proud of my 45 year old frame. It's kinda like a wrestlers torso on Austin Powers legs.. . .

I would say with most guys, whether they admit it or not, need leg work. Very rarely do i see someone who has some muscle mass that even looks like they work legs. I just don't understand how someone can neglect half of their body, i guess if they are hidden by some board shorts it don't matter to the general public
Anyone who doesn't mention legs on here as the part that needs the most work should have to post pics to prove so.
I find my legs are not as big as i thought as i get closer to the 10% bodyfat, lost a lot of girth in my quads.

I agree about the legs...I feel mine are pretty strong because of how often I run during the year combined with how many times I ski, cross-country ski, and snow shoe in the winter. There is still room for improvment, though, because I rarely do actual strength training for them.
I voted for my arms. I do resistance work for them, but I would like to get stronger there. I've noticed that the attention I pay to my arms has helped with my core and chest, so it seems to kill three birds with one stone.

IMHO they all need to be worked evenly, plus always work your weakest parts first
when you are fresh, makes them come along faster,I think most people who work out
have a favorite exercise or two and mainly concentrate on them ,thats a no no...........
shoulders, back, legs, tris, bis, chest ,traps forearms etc etc all need to be given a
complete going over,of course this depends on your routine, most people I know
always head to the bench press and after 15 minutes of lifting and 45 minutes
of b.s. they then tend to shy away from whats needed most,I guess what I am
saying it depends on the individual, I guess everyone has a weak spot but to me
you have to hit em all and work em all or you become unbalanced.IMF
imho I WOULD SAY BACK,BUT THATS MY OPINION.

I thought the poll meant what part is most important. I voted legs but that is not the case, personally, I find my arms slow to come along but I am the long lanky type.
Legs are my fave, I have butterflies in my stomach now 'cause I'm off to the gym in a few minutes to do a shitload of squats.
Freakzilla, about hitting the body part in need first, when you are fresh: are you talking about first as in first in your rotation (weekly split) or on a given day (ie: arms before chest, etc)?

hit the weakest part of your routine first while you are freshest do this until they
catch up with the strongest part of your routine on any given day.as far as what
muscles need the most work on your body,I said they all do because you can always
improve every muscle part, changing back to what you asked dealer your strongest
exercise on any given day when you put your weakest exercise first you may notice
a little drop in a rep or two because you are burning yourself out doing your weakest
exercise first but your strongest will catch up and you will also get stronger on
your strongest exercise because you building up stamina.always work your weakest
part of your routine first and don't get discouraged this will help you in the long run!
peace out IMF

My legs lag from years of not training them. You know, the college guy "I want a good chest arms and abs" thing. Stupid me!

I was gonna say legs, but it's more of a genetic thing....I have good muscle symetry btwn upper and lower aspects. However I did say core. After 2 pregnancies back 2 back, both delivered via c-section, I'd have to say that's my 'lagging' part......though I feel it is responding well lately for whatever reasons.....there IS a God after all, I guess, lol!!

I think most ignore their legs, people just don't like working them but they release diff hormones
and you obtain a fuller more maintained physique and outer appearance.Again mine was 'back'.

Definitely my calves, but I voted legs since there wasn't a more specific option.
IMFZ, you keep mentionning how working your legs will release "different" hormones, but different from what???

squats are one of, if not THE most effective, growth-producing exercises you could possibly include in your workout routine. They will pack more size and strength onto your lower body than any other exercise out there, and due to their high level of difficulty, they also force your body to release higher amounts of important anabolic hormones such as testosterone and growth hormone. This increased secretion of hormones will pack muscle size onto your entire upper body as well. These hormones are for bigger muscles primarily but will help out in other
areas as noticed, hope this helps,IMF.....p.s. you can not get big without working your legs.
No other area gives you the different growth hormone release that legs do.But if you work
your calves really crunch em,I am sure this will help your over legs.

Simply put, squats are the most difficult, intimidating and painful exercise you could possibly have in your arsenal. They require massive amounts of discipline and willpower to perform correctly. After you have performed a set of squats to failure, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. They are also a challenging exercise to master from a technical standpoint.

I voted legs; but specifically, my calves are the body part that could use a little extra development.
