Tooncesthecat starts the road to bodybuilding success!
Well, here I go again! Have two shows target for May. The 2010 INBF Tri-State Bodybuilding and Figure Championships will be held on May 15, 2010 and a week later The 2010 OCB Circle City Championships will be held in Indianapolis.
I figure if I am going to do all the prep, I should do two shows! And so my journey begins. I am ~175# today and competed at about 150 last May. I am leaner than I was a year ago at this time and have better vascularity. My past year has been spent working on my weakest points...my rear delts, upper chest, calves, and QUADS. I believe I have put on some size and should come in a bit bigger and harder than last year since I have less weight to lose (I was nearly 190# this time last year).
Doing 5 day split:
Sun - back, calves
Mon - Quads
Tue - Shoulders, traps
Wed - off
Thu - Chest, calves
Fri - Bis, tris, hammies
Sat - Off
Going heavy but really cranking out at least 10-12 reps, even if I do a couple rest-pauses. Trying to focus on working the muscle vs moving the weight. Keeping rest to about 60 sec between sets. No cardio yet since I get a pretty good aerobic component moving quickly between sets.
Have tightened up the diet but am not on a specific protocol yet. I think I flattened out too much last year with a keto diet and I plan on keeping some carbs in my diet throughout. Going to get those from good sources like oats, veggies, grains, etc. Going to keep good fats high in the form of Omega 3, peanut butter, almonds (yum!), etc.
Drinking a gallon of water a day. Supps include multi vitamin/mineral, BCAAs, glutamine, fish oil, and protein isolate.
Should be a fun ride! Here's a couple pics. I'll post more, but the batteries died two shots in Sorry about the lighting in the first

IMF, don't really know what my comp weight will be although it will probably be in the mid 150s. Might even be closer to 160. I'll have to check the weight classes too because I would like to be on the high end of the lightweight class which i think cuts off at 159. All drug free. Polygraph. I think they do a pee test on winners. INBF is pretty strict so no prohormones, only certain diet stuff is allowed. I couldn't care less because I am doing good without that stuff.
Last year there was a guy who won the novice and masters division (beat me in both) and looked pretty "drug hard". Was way more ripped and vascular than any of the other guys. IDK if he was using but at the very least I bet he might have slipped some Clen in at the end. Oh well, what can I do? I just plan on coming in my best and kicking ass!

Good luck on your next two shows, Toonces. May is far away from now, so that will give you plenty of time to prepare for these next two competitions.
