Strict Curl Competition

Has anyone ever competed in one of these? The APA-WPA web site has records on this and the open category has some impressive numbers. The numbers in the masters category look reachable. I'm turning 45 this year and have always been strong when comes to curls so I'm considering entering one these competitions. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

What are the rules and where is the website? I can not believe they have a curling competition.

Go to "www.apa-wpa.com" and it lists all the rule, records and upcoming events.

Have you ever competed/seen a competition, if not you need to go to one just to see how everything "works". Get familar with the rules, listen to the refs, and just absorb everything there. Then when it comes time to compete you will be a little more relaxed, you will know how everything operates and what not. If you do compete good luck to you.

That was kind of my plan. There's a meet in my area in April. I thought I'd go and check it out especially my weight class and age bracket. That way, like you said, I'd see how it all works and also have an idea of what I need to lift to be competitive. Then I'd enter a meet maybe mid summer if there's one near by. Thanks.
