I know I said Toney Freeman was in the previous thread. But after Phil Heath's win at the Iron Man, and after how good he looked and how much he has improved, he's got a lot momentum going for him right now. So I got to go with Phil Heath, then maybe Dexter Jackson in second place.

And I said Phil Heath would win the Ironman and it would not surprise me a bit if he won here, but I just think Dexter hears the footsteps of Phil and a few others and is coming in prepared. He also thought he would be competing against Victor. Even though this will not be the case this year, I think he trained for that matchup all year. In the end I think it will be Dex or Phil.

WTF was Dex doing plugging Muscletech during his post-contest interview with Arnold? Saying he only has to workout "an hour a day" then Arnold asked, "what ever happened to working out 4 or 5 hours a day?" Dex then says, "Now we have Muscletech supplements!" Later, Arnold asked about practicing posing and Dex replies, "I don't practice posing." Arnold then asked, "So you look like this by just taking some pills? Dex then says, "Hydroxycut!" Shameless!
What do you think?

It's obviously an advertising plug. He gets paid good money by his sponsors (MuscleTech) to say it, as well as the rest of the top bodybuilders out there (for example, ask Ronnie what he takes, and he'll preach about BSN). Without sponsors paying them, the only money bodybuilders would make is from contest prize money, and only a few actually win that. Endorsement contracts and sponsorships are the professional bodybuilder's main source of income.
In reality, Dexter trains hard and smart, and is gifted with excellent genetics. He does his cardio by playing basketball. But just like the rest of the professional bodybuilders out there, he didn't achieve his excellent physique by using supplements, he did it by using performance enhancing drugs. He's not fooling any of us.
Congratulations to Dexter though. It was a well-earned victory at the Arnold 2008.

You are correct as usual and bring up very valid and truthful points. I love Dex and was extremely happy to see him win. I just think Arnold was trying to advocate a need for hard work and dedication. He's big into the fitness movement, especially with the kids. I think he was expecting Dex to say something like, "I worked hard and never gave up. It wasn't easy, but that's how you reach your goals" So giving kids the impression you "don't really work that hard" and "Just took some pills" might no have been what the governor wanted to hear. As usual, this is just my opinion
