So I got a new toy...
Well, not really a toy. I sold my Sigma SD9 a few months ago, and finally decided to make a purchase. After a couple weeks of poking and prodding, I bought a Nikon D70S. I already like it better than the Sigma, it is smaller and lighter, and double the resolution. Saturday I'll be at Lime Rock Park for the American Le Mans race, so I should have plenty of pictures to share. I'm hoping to test the 144 consecutive-shot feature at the start of the race in Turn 1.

I arrived at Lime Rock Park shortly after 8am Saturday morning. Eleven hours, seven races and 694 pictures later I hopped in the car and headed home. It was a wonderful day, and a great experience. If you have never attended a Le Mans event, I urge you to go. The admission to LRP included a paddock pass, so everyone in attendance had the opportunity to see the cars and drivers up close. There was an autograph session after the morning warm-up, giving fans a chance to talk with the men and women behind the wheels.
The production class includes Corvettes, Ferraris, BMWs, Porsches and more. I'll start by posting some pictures of what I considered to be the most beautiful cars on the track, the Aston Martin DBR9. Fantastic lines, sophisticated styling, graceful, agile. Incredible to watch as they navigated the course. And the noise, the sweet noise coming from the shortened exhaust. Raucous, rebellious, the sound of impending catastrophic failure that never came. If I had the means, there would be one in my driveway.

Anyone familiar with Canon 350d or 400d ? Long time ago I had a Canon AE1 and now I´m thinking about stepping into the "digital age"...

How much do you want to spend and what do you intend to do with the camera? Are you going to shoot people primarily or do landscapes? Sports events or portraiture? I can better advise you if I know what the answers are to that question.
