My new camera
Ordered my new camera last night. I am excited and can't wait to test it out at the Arnold next March!
Canon PowerShot SX100 IS digital camera
It's not what I'd call a real photographer's camera (because I'm not one ), but it looks like a decent entry-level camera.

 Hey Toonces, great buy!!!
My oldest daughter took the Canon to Spain in the spring. The stabilization function is HUGE, all sorts of pictures taken while on trains and busses and they are sharp as hell. So if the Arnold beauties get your knees a knock-in, at least it won't show in the pics....

I am looking for a new camera with a better zoom, too. I think I'll go with the S5 IS. SX100 IS was also heavily considered.
Best site for research I've found is Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ
They are extremely thorough. You practically learn how to use the camera before you lay your hands on it.

Yeah, the S5 IS is similar but has a better zoom and faster shutter speed. you'll love it!

Went a completely different route...
Got the Sony DSC-H50. Gotta play around with it to get the hang of everything.
Tossing around going to The Arnold next year (would be my first one); maybe I'll see you there if I decide to go.
I've got Zambia in about 6 and a half weeks, so I'll be out shooting just about every weekend until I leave to get used to the camera.
How's the SX100 IS?
