reminds me of my duty station le juene in n carolina. spent many a weekends out on a rental speed boat in those times.

Great Shots. I spent a week in SC this summer and it is definately a picturesque place to be. Hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Bluebird, the story with those horses is kinda cool. They came over on ships with the Spanish back in the 1500's. When they failed to establish a permanent colony, they left the horses behind. They have lived at the far north end of the outer banks, nearly at the Virginia state line. They have survived due to the fact they have no natural predators in the area, no humans have really lived there until recently (and the horses are now a protected animal...can't come within 50 ft of them), they have all the food they need in the form of grass and other plants a few hundred feet in off the beach, and they can get the salt they need from a quick drink from the ocean. They have about 130-140 horses in this area. They live in groups with a dominant male and several females. Other groups consist of "drifters" who are young males and old males without females. Interesting!

Incredible story, Toones  I used to live in the Black Hills and we have a wild horse sanctuary near Hot Springs.

I would have but it was too cool. The temp was in the mid to upper 60's and the water was pretty cold too. Guess I'm just a wimp
