The Dream Thread
Ever dream of flying? That used to be my favorite dream as a little kid. Always wanted to fly.
(The G-Cat closes eyes.....dreams of flying)
What was your strangest dream? Your favorite dream? (No, nocturnal emissions, please.) Might be fun to psychoanalyze each other. I seem to dream far less now. Maybe that is because I do not sleep much.
Okay, I'll start. I once dreamt of The Maltese Falcon. I replayed the entire movie in my dreams. However, everyone had been replaced by birds. Yes, Humphrey Bogart was a bird.
Of course, I was 11 years old at the time and was home from school with a high fever. I had just finished watching a movie on PBS.......The Maltese Falcon. Hmmmm.....cannot understand why I replayed that over in my mind. Cats eat birds, right? Maybe I was hungry.
Tell us your dreams.

Interesting idea G... I don't have any specific dreams that come to mind, but strange things have happened... such as totally unrelated contexts coming together in my dreams... what do I mean by this...
Example...
The house I grew up in was very old, it had been in my family for 4 generations. When I was 10 years old, the 2 lane highway by us was slated to be turned into a four lane highway. The house had to be razed (it was too old to move) and we built a new one elsewhere. I was crushed.
These days on occaisson I have a dream that revolves around people I only just met or some recent event - BUT it takes place in the old house, which was torn down some 20 years ago...
I guess this shows how much I subconciously miss the home I grew up in?
Pretty weird, huh?

I offten have dreams about falling off of cliffs, trees ect.. but I wake up right before I hit the groud. I was told that if you hit the ground in your dream you can die in your sleep. Do you think this is true?

I'll tell you my dreams (although some arent pretty)
When I was really little I had nightmares all the time, I used to have the same dream every night. I was in this really huge empty room I mean huge and there was this robot kind of thing that killed me a different way every night. Like one night it would use a gun another night use a knife sometimes rip me apart etc. Those were not good times.
In middle school I had alot of dreams where soem terrorist or some evil guy would break into my school and hold my class hostage, then I would find some way to kill him and save the day. (those were wierd dreams)
In highschool I dreamed about girls and kinda normal stuff but I still had the occasional evil guy holding the class hostage dream.
Now, my dreams are totally out there and I forget most of them once I wake up. But my dreams now make so little sense now everyone wouldnt know what I was talking about. For instance one time I was in this room kinda like a lunchroom (not a school lunchroom though) with a bunch of people, then I got up to use the bathroom fixed up my hair and walked out naked (dont remember taking off clothes) and had a hat on that wasnt on when I first went into the bathroom, then I walked by and this chick hit on me, I ignored it and went back to my seat on my way to the seat I somehow had a towel around me then I look and there is Pharrel from the neptunes singing some gay ass song on the ceiling.
Now tell me that last dream wasnt totally weird.

My dreams usually include positive and uplifting thoughts
such as assassinating my boss.
From time to time I get those pesky dreams that cause my manhood to swell.

Dreams eh?
Geeez, ive lost count the number of times that i had the old naked in school dream. It would take me back to school and si would be sat at my desk - one of those where the lid lifts up an old wooden thing. Im sat there in a lesson and ill be naked from the waist down and id be tring to pull my school shirt down to cover my "tackle". All around me in the class would be pupils which were all sorts of people id met in my life - some that went to the school some that didnt.
The worse part of it all would be when the teacher asks me to come to the front of the class to explain a problem on the chalk board!
I would be there in front of the whole class and they would staring at me, some whispering, some shouting, some laughing, but just as im at the front and you dont think it could get any worse........ in my dream......... i start to get an erection!!!!!
Is this a Dream????..........or a bloody Nightmare????.... you decide lol.
.....i dont get it as often now im pleased to say.

I dream all the time....and in COLOR .
I do have one recurring dream: Seven Tornadoes in an environment, which changes all the time, there is always a house/building/ship/structure with a group of people surrounded by these tornadoes. I am always on the periphery and I...just...can't...help...them.
Oh, and one of the Funnels looks like Al Capone.

I don't remember all my dreams, but on those rare occasions that I do, it's always the same one (to some degree). It always involves some kind of doomsday theme, where the earth/world/country/city is being attacked and me and some people (friends or faces I've just/have seen out and about) are struggling to survive. The dream always ends with me doing the ol' strong-silent-loner-type-mentor guy that sacrifices himself in order to either a) save the day or b) buy enough time for somebody else to finish the fight/conflict/war, etc. I always go in a big, dramatic way (sometimes involves gun-fu or hack 'n slash type of stuff). It's almost as if I'm watching a movie à la Lord of the Rings. Anyways, those are mine.

I often dream that all of my teeth are falling out. Not gradually- I wiggle one then they all start slipping out in a bloody succession. I've been told it represents my unresolved vanity issues. Sounds about right. Most people don't remember their dreams because dreaming is a component of stage 5 sleep (REM). You wouldn't normally wake up during REM sleep, only when something external causes you to.

I have the same dream over and over. I get into a fight but I am in slow motion the more I try the slower I move. Then I wake up and I am on the hook!

Good timing; I had a bizarre dream last night about some sort of giant tapeworm or something (I can't recall if it burrowed out of my stomach or someone else's, but it was something like a yard long and about an inch or so in diameter (that's 1 meter and about 2.5 cm for nonAmericans) and had a ring of teeth that sort of came out like the alien in the Alien films). I remember dreaming that I had a tight grip on it while it was wriggling and it was so realistic that when the dream woke me up, I got up with my hands curled up like they were gripping it and I started walking somewhere so I could get rid of it. Weird.
Anyone want to speculate on that dream's meaning?
