Torchwood
For all Dr. Who fans/followers, the first showing of a spin off series was aired tonight on BBC Three.
2 of the episodes out of 13 in the first series were shown tonight.
There are some familiar faces if you check back to the last 2 series'es of Dr. Who.

The trailers on BBC looked awesome, but trailers have a tendency to make anything look awesome...even the crap stuff. I'm gonna wait and see, but my expectations are high.

They're showing it after 9:00 pm due to content (language and material content).
The 1st episode was just creating the environment and an introduction to the cast. Looks like it'll be a good series.
Quote:
The premiere of a new sci-fi drama, from the same stable as Dr Who, has taken place in Cardiff.
Torchwood has been created by writer Russell T Davies and will be broadcast on Sunday (22nd October).
Set in Cardiff, the series stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack - one of the characters from Doctor Who - and Welsh actress Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper.
Torchwood follows the adventures of a team of investigators solving crime - both alien and human.
Swansea-born Davies, the creator of Queer as Folk and Second Coming, said the 13-part series, to be screened after the 9pm watershed, was aimed at an adult audience.
The six investigators deal with aliens and their technology but also have "real lives with mortgages to pay and chips to eat," said Davies.
He said he ensured there was some swearing early in the first episode to make it clear the show was not meant for children, though he expected some would watch.
'Upset people'
He said: "I did that very deliberately so that you cannot get confused about what you are watching.
"It's saying very clearly, if you are watching with a child, get out of the room."
Despite closely following the characters' love lives, Davies said he did not think "there's anything there to upset people".
Each of the Torchwood characters "get the chance to shine" as the series progresses, he said, with the aliens including a cyberman/woman, "psychotic fairies" and a "big, big" monster.
Russell T Davies is the creator of Torchwood
Captain Jack Harkness is the leader of the Torchwood team and Myles' character, Cardiff-based policewoman Gwen Cooper, by chance becomes involved with the team.
Barrowman said: "There's sexuality in the show. It's people showing their sexuality as people do in everyday life."
The series also stars Indira Varma, Burn Gorman, Naoko Mori and Gareth David-Lloyd.
Although Doctor Who inspired Torchwood, no storylines cross over between the two series.

An interesting observation, Torchwood - is an anagram of Doctor Who.
