I watched a special last night on Vlad the Impaler. Very interesting. He is seen as a national hero in Romania, and some even pray for his return. When they excavated his tomb in the 1930's all they found were animal bones.

what was he a hero for? and was it for good intentions cause i remeber he would murder or something tons of people and impale there heads on spikes which gave his name.

i could be wrong of course, so thats why im asking.

They view him as a national hero for fighting the Turks to prevent the spread of Islam into Europe. I'd be curious to get Emreka's take on this since he is Turkish.

If any of you are interested i found this site which seems to be quite informative. Gman this site said he eventually sided with the turks and was killed by his own family for it. Check it out.

No, that was his brother. Vlad fought the Turks to the end.
