Couldn't that be said about MySpace, etc. too? I have MySpace but not Facebook. And no, I don't check it every 15 minutes to see if someone has commented me or friend requested me or updated their profile, et al.

IMO, it has its place. I don't post every photo and update my status every day like some, but I've found Facebook to be a useful tool for keeping in touch with friends who are scattered across the globe. It has also helped me re-connect with old friends and classmates who might have been difficult to reach without a centralized networking site.

Yeah I thought Myspace was great as a personal web page but Facebook was heaps better for finding old acquaintances and the like...
I quite like it to be honest ! anyone on there PM me and hook up !

I have never had any interest in myspace or facebook. I know it's shocking... what with me being such a people-person and all.
I have enough trouble keeping up with things here on EF.

Never had any interest in either. My 17 yr old son and 15 yr old daughter both dropped their myspaces and went to facebook.
We regulate how much time they spend on the computer everyday so they are not on it 20-30 times a day.

I have used Facebook to network with some other professionals, but that's about the extent of it.

I am on MySpace and think it is kind of fun. Some people from work are on it, and several people that work out at my gym are on there, too.
Tried Facebook once and couldn't really get into it...
I check it pretty much daily: messages, friend requests, etc.
Extension is kmk1373. If anyone to add me, shoot me a message along with a friend request so I know who you are.

Yeah, It's Crazy People! I Joined Yahoo 360, Which Is Pretty Much The Same As Facebook And Myspace. If You're Not Getting Spamed, You're Getting Contacted By Freaks.

facebook is great for organising events and reminding me of things i'd otherwise forget such as birthdays. it's also a great archive of nights out, past gfs, etc.

I'm exclusively facebook now -- myspace security was just too spotty, and way too much spam. I liked FB a bit more when you needed an .edu email to get an account, but it hasn't degraded too much by allowing everyone else on.
Also, it makes stalking people so much easier; I haven't had to take telephoto pictures now for ages [/joke]

i actually have found some old h.s. friends who i lost touch with on it. personally, i think that is what it is best for. I'm only a year and a half out of college so i still talk to those people all the time, but 8 years out of h.s. i have lost touch with a lot of people. i think it will be very useful when i am like mid to late 30's and can still connect and talk to people i grew up with.
and like pliny said, it makes stalking so much easier

This is how I got in contact with a bunch of people too. My HS reunion just had it's 20 year get together and we organized a lot of it through this. Was pretty cool... even though I didn't get to go. A lot of pictures captured the moment. I also caught up with a friend I hadn't seen since 8th grade! Nuts man.
