Fantasy Football 2009
Would anyone like to play fantasy football for the 2009 season?
I can set up the league on Yahoo like I did last year if there is enough interest. To make it competitive we should have 10-12 people.
Respond in this thread if you are interested.
Thanks

I am interested. I haven't played fantasy sports before, but I'd like to get into it.

How much research does it take. It seems fun but I don't want to bring the league down if I don't make good decisions...

Your bad decisions will only bring you down
Seriously, I don't research any. Maybe I'm a dumbass but I just go with hunches. You never really know who to pick anyway. Last year I had Tom Brady (in another league) and look where that got me.

Like Toonces said, your bad decisions will only hurt your own team. That said, just try to have fun and as long as you don't totally blow off managing your team, you should be fine.
I'm sort of a fantasy football nut. I have won the championship in a keeper league 3 straight years and I usually am unable to be online live for the draft - I just take what yahoo automatically gives me (with a few modifications in the pre-draft rankings) . Fantasy football also has a lot of luck involved IMHO... see Toonces situation with Tom Brady last year.
Lastly, I think the best thing about fantasy football (and any other fantasy sport for that matter) is that you become even MORE of a fan of the game. I follow players on teams I don't like much, and I'll keep my eye on games that I normally wouldn't give a second glance at simply becaue I or my opponent has a fantasy player in the game.

Yeah, it's really fun! I don't play any other fantasy sports. And like Wil said, it makes you care about games and players you would otherwise ignore. I have always done the autopick for drafting as well. But I do like to try to change my team up throughout the season by either picking up free agents or trading for players.

by my count, we are up to 7.
Does anyone have a preference for the date/time for the draft? Last year we did a Saturday morning in August I think. Are there any dates to avoid due to vacations or trips to Aussie land to beat up GG's creepy trainer?

COUNT ME IN! I suck at it cuz I can't ever think another player is as good as my steelers, but it's still a good time.

I AM IN!!!
Wow...I cannot believe how close it is to football season.
Maybe this year I won't lose my QB ( Tom Brady, no less ) in the first half of the first game...as well as my number one reciever in game one.
