Bass nerd here. I played in a band in college (mostly acid jazz and soul), did did some fill-ins for everything from hip-hop to Broadway-style musical theatre. After school, I played with a Hawai'ian band for a couple of years, complete with hula dancers, all around Washington DC. During this time, I was able to pick up ukulele and some dance moves.
Unfortunately, I've just been practicing by myself for the past year or two. Kind of bad, because I can tell that my groove has diminished by not playing with others (especially drummers) for so long. I bought an electronic drum set a while ago, which I beat on for fun when I get hyped. IMO, few things are more physically satisfying than playing the hell out of some drums!

I play in a few "hobby" bands.
- One jazz trio (acoustic - I play the double bass).
- I've just started playing in a Beatles cover band (I play most of the "Paul" parts - mostly bass - guitar & piano when necessary)
- I play guitar or piano at church sometimes
I have a Hofner 500/1 bass, Gretsch Cadillac Green DuoJet, Gretsch Tennessee Rose HT, Rickenbacker 360/6 JetGlo, Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo bass, Epiphone Casino Revolution, a couple acoustics and spanish guitars... One big happy family...
