Recognizing "real" and "fake" muscles?
Hi guys,
Alright, I don't know much where I could put up this thread so I'm going to put it here since it's pretty much a fitness issue. I like to watch wrestling a lot... since the end of the 1980s'... and there's a question that uses to pop in my head: who has got "real" muscles and who has got "fake" muscles? By that, I want to know how I could recognize someone who has done bodybuilding and fitness stuff to put up a muscled body and someone who do so but with some surgery help. I'm asking this question because my mother who sometimes watch wrestling with me (she hates violence), points out and says "Look, he's got real muscles while the other got fake muscles having going under surgery.". Personnally, I think I have an idea but I'm not sure. Here's an example: I think that Batista seems to have "real" muscles while The Rock has went under surgery and has got fake" muscles.

There are such things as implants that go underneath muscle so as to create the illusion of greater muscle mass, but these implants don't have anything 'strength' - they don't make you stronger (just bigger). They exist for pecs and calves (don't know about any others), but they never look like a real muscle. That said, I doubt if wrestlers get the implants. Instead, the 'un-natural' part of their physique is due to AAS.
They may very well have cosmetic surgery (noses, lips, eyes, hair, etc), but I have serious doubts that they're getting "fake" muscles. Of course, the most obviously fake thing in the ring is, certainly, the wrestling.

What do you mean by the AAS?

Anabolic/androgenic steroids. Most of the guys in the WWE have taken them, no doubt, but you still have to work at it in order to get as big as they do. That being said, the only fake thing is the wrestling, just as pliny points out.

I know that people still have to work it out but it sucks to see guys using implants to "muscle" them up. I mean, why not working out like Batista? Okay, this is not a good example. Why not like John Cena? He's not too much build up. And he's got real cool muscles.

I doubt the Rock got fake muscles, the guy built up his frame since his days of high school and college football, he took up wrestling when his football days fell apart. I am assuming you are saying Cena and Batista got real muscles because they look more defined?

It's the impression that I have. I know that he must have real muscles since he started out doing football first and then wrestling but in his last days at the WWE, around 2002 and now, he seems to have implants.

???Implants?? It's called weight lifting. Plus the Rock is a big strong dude. And if you look at him in the movie Doom he's smaller than he was when he was wrestling. His body changes in every movie. The only thing to debate physique wise with these guys is how much AAS they are on. After looking at Batista's workout, there's no way he'd be able to get to his size with that shitty workout.

Weight lifting? Excuse me, but I've never seen dudes with real muscles having a body like The Rock. Sorry to say this but for The Rock, I think he has implants or uses Botox because his body is way too firm to be real. We can't even see his veins on his abs in contrary of Batista.

I think it might be time you start worrying about your own muscle development rather than worrying about whether others have real or so called fake muscles...

Sorry but I can't see the pic. And to precise myself, it's not about me having a physique like Batista or any other wrestler or buffs. The question I asked was about how to recognize "real" muscles from "fake" (using surgery, Botox or whatever else possible).

My muscle development? I've got no problem with my muscle development. All I wanted to know is how to recognize "real" muscle abs from "fake" ones.

Best way to know is go to guy/girl with muscles you have a question about being real or not and just ask...if that don't work, then you just got to live with it, it is the same as wondering whether a chick got implants in the chest. You won't know unless she tells you. And in the end, does it really matter?

Personally, no but I was asking out of curiosity. I just wanted to know how to recognize each kind of muscles since both exists as boobs. I can almost tell which boobs are real or fake, especially if I can touch. Yes, I have to admit it, I'm a pervert but so what? You guys too are perverts. But I'm the most pervert of us all. Any objections?

This might be the weirdest thread ever! I have heard of calf implants as well as some pec implants in bodybuilders, but that's about it. The Rock looks normal to me, and it's ironic that you single him out, given that Batista is substantially larger and more defined. WTF? I'd be willing to bet that none of them have implants, but that most of them take steroids.

I don't single The Rock out. It's just an example. I could say other wrestlers but one is enough. As for Batista, although he's larger but we can see that he's got real muscles because we can notice some of his veins on his abs in contrary of The Rock.
