An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan is not a painful procedure for the majority of patients. If a patient is having an MRI of a shoulder that has a rotor cuff injury it may require movements that can cause pain. A patient that has back pain or a spinal injury may experience pain, not due to the procedure, but due to the injury. Read more...
