At the age of 10, Natalie’s promising gymnastics career came to an abrupt halt when she contracted an extremely rare illness called streptococcal toxic shock. What started as a simple sore throat turned into something so severe and rare that doctors gave her virtually no chance of survival. The physician treating Natalie at the time had diagnosed it as a common cold and prescribed bed rest and Tylenol… no antibiotics. Only days later, she awoke in the middle of the night with severe chest pains and was rushed to the emergency room. "It was the worst thing I've ever been through in my life," recalls Natalie's dad. "Her mom and I were asleep when Natalie came crawling into our room on her hands and knees. She was in such terrible pain that she could hardly even cry. I saw the frightened look on her face and was afraid we were about to lose our little girl." When they arrived at the hospital, Natalie immediately went into shock and slipped into a coma.

During the 3 weeks in which Natalie was comatose and on life support, her defenseless body went through one complication after another. This included not only sepsis, but adult respiratory distress syndrome (a fatal complication of strep toxic shock), numerous episodes of phlebitis, renal failure and ultimately, full organ and heart failure. Doctors were forced to inform Natalie’s parents that there was nothing more they could do to save her and had decided to remove the life support. During the time in which she had this rare illness, physicians weren’t completely sure how to treat what she had because very few people had ever survived through it. Natalie’s parents were informed to begin making funeral arrangements. At that time, she only had about 15 more minutes left at the most, and the doctors permitted all family members into the intensive care unit to spend those last moments with her. Natalie was in the very critical area of the pediatric intensive care unit which meant that no visitors were allowed in the area for anymore than a couple of minutes at a time.

Only moments after the life support was removed, a miracle happened. Natalie opened her eyes and took her first breath on her own. Being a spiritual person, Natalie is certain that her sudden turn for the better was a true act from someone above. “I feel that it simply wasn’t my time to go and was given a second chance at life for a reason”, says Natalie. “I carry this thought with me each and everyday, never taking a single day for granted”.

Thanks for the awesome background information Bruce. Being very spiritual myself I can totally see where she is coming from. She is truly an inspiration to all. To think, some people just give in to being obese and overweight and you have a truly strong person like Natalie who doesn't take life for granted. The world needs more women like her. Thanks again Bruce. One of the best posts I have ever read in this forum.

She's a stunning girl--face and bod, plus, just by looking at her expressions--you can tell she's a sweet person. Definitely a great thread, just wanted to bump it!

thanks a ton, guys!! i have been looking for this babe online for ages!! i had no idea what her name was and so didn't know where to look! of course i could probably have posted the only pic of her that i had and asked, but me being the smart ol' me, it never crossed my mind at the time!! once again, you guys have made my days!!! :-D
