Okay, here's the deal with this thread (and by theway, if anyone has a better idea for the title of this thing, send me a message, please!)

We have a rule in this forum that says "10) This is a PICTURES section - not a LINKS or DISCUSSION section. New posts require at least one picture - posts without them will be removed at our discretion." This is the most-ignored rule for the forum; many live by it, many live against it.

Please add your opinion, for or against, to this thread. And include a somewhat random picture with your post, of course (since it would be pretty stupid to have a thread about a rule and then ignore that rule in the thread.) Be 100% certain that the model/competitor's name and website address are included in your post (and "myspace", "facebook", etc. do not count as websites - not here, not in the forum at all.) No name? no website? then don't add here. All of the normal rules for the forum apply (no nudity of any kind, no photos from paysites, no models under 20, none of the ladies who asked to not be included here, and so forth.)

I'll start:

This is a good rule because it assures that when I, or anyone else, cruise into the forum and see that a thread has been "freshened" or "bumped", I know that when I open that thread, the most recent post is going to be a recently-discovered photo of a top model/competitor who shows off the benefit of a fit lifestyle. Without this rule, the comments that are added might as well just say "bump" or "btt" or something similarly inane. If you're like me, that "bump" crap gets old really fast.



Please add your comment and photo to this thread. It doesn't matter if you're a BigDog, an EF Babe, a Site Supporter, someone who is working his or her way up, or just a casual member - everyone's opinion and pictures are welcome. Just keep them polite and conversational, nothing pointed or angry, and nothing lengthy. We'll keep this thread running for a week or so, depending on the comments and interest. And for whatever it's worth, we're very interested in what the ladies out there have to say.

I can see how newbies might feel they are joining in by just posting comments. I guess everyone wants to have a say and have their opinion be valued. However, anyone who regularly visits the forum does not like to wade through the "Wow, she's hot!" comments to get to the new pictures. Unfortunately, when you read one such post by a newbie and see ten new more, you either have to plow through them all, or miss out on some earlier, new good posts on those threads that are covered up by the drivel.

From what I've seen, after one warning, the offender usually does not repeat the offense. Maybe it's because you banish them? I think allowing one mistake is reasonable. We all make mistakes, and you never know who might become a productive citizen for the forum.

I used to hate the "no reply without picture" rule but now that we have the "thanks" button it pretty much counts as a positive reply. It seems like many other forums with a babes section encourage people to reply with a comment in order to show effort by the posters. Since this is a "pictures" forum it forces people to be creative and find pictures to post. No matter how creative a comment you make isn't going to get the girl you're commenting about to sleep with you so a simple "thanks" with the button works out really well.

Absolutely concur with all the comments above. I also feel the 'thanks' button is essential here and really eliminates the need for the useless banter. It would be really nice to know that when you see a new post that it will contain photos or at the least some kind of pertinent info related to the Fitness Babe. There are plenty of other really great forums here for people to express their opinions in writing... I recommend checking 'em out.

As already mentioned I usually give someone a warning via pm or in the thread first, and then repeat offenders get blasted. I really feel that without this rule, and Bruce doing such a fine job, it would be absolute chaos around here.

To echo OB, I also feel like too many lurkers just take up space with useless comments. How many times can you read "She's hot!" or "Wow, she's got a nice body!"? I think we'd have a cluttered mess if we allowed these posts. A picture forum should be just that, full of pictures. Bumping a forum should only happen as a result of new pictures!

I have also found it necessary to PM several violators to this rule. If I see that they continue to post in violation I will neg rep them with another strong reference to the rules. In my opinion, if they have been warned by a Mod and continue to ignore the rules, they should be banned.

This is a great thread Bruce! I personally have some differing opinions on the subject:

When you look at almost all internet forums that post pictures of girls, all of them are filled with pages and pages of "she's hot" or "I'd fuck her" comments surrounding one or two posts of actual pictures. It is what people are used to when they visit a forum. I am sure that some Big Dogs and Top Dogs members here, myself included, could have had our first post or two say "she's hot" and not include pictures. A mistake or two is acceptable, but you can always tell the people who abuse it. And I hate to say it, but most of the people who abuse it are probably internet nerds who are pissed because they got banned and just re-joined under a different user name to piss us off again. That's why I try to ignore being an ass to people who don't post pics. It feeds into what they want. A simple ban from a mod with little or no fanfare might be better.

I do get frustrated with seeing a "bump", but for the most part the harm it does is equalled out by the good. A lot of times it may be from an older model I forgot about or a post I might've missed, even if there isn't a new pic. My tastes in fitness women are very specific and honestly I wind up being disappointed with half the girls posted in the Fitness Babes section anyways, so I'm doing a lot of clicking and "back-ing" anyways. And nothing against the other members here, I'm just not into girls who have bigger muscles than me.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't need a new picture to be happy with a bumped thread, I think it should be monitored in a friendly way though especially for someone with 20 or under posts. Sometimes it takes people time to realize what this forum is about, and just because someone bumps 15 threads in a 10 minute time period without posting pictures doesn't mean we should hang them out to dry or ban them. Continuous annoying behavior over several weeks or months though is definitely not welcome. I just don't want us to scare off what could be good people who are as horny as anyone else on the site, seeing all the good quality material we post here and "blowing their wad" so to speak by posting that every girl is hot. Lets let new members "settle down" and help them learn the rules in a welcoming way, rather than letting it upset us!

Finally,

I LOVE the thanks button, however I have an idea. "thanks" should not be given to a member, it should be given to a thread. If Marzia Prince or Jamie Eason are getting the most positive responses on the forum, let's give credit to them as a model, rather than the person who finds the picture. This way, we could have a method for discovering or "ranking" the models, and maybe even have a "most popular model" rankings on the site. I think reps should be given to members for good finds, Thanks should go to the model, even if she isn't an EF babe.

Really like your post... however I disagree with setting up a system where the fit babes compete for popularity. Any system like that tends to end up becoming elitist in the long run. Plus I think 'thanks' along with 'reps' are good motivational tools for people who post photos to feel that their hard work is appreciated by others. Just feel it's already a very good system that promotes camaraderie and team work... not separatism.

Splendid idea for a thread, Bruce. By the way, I think this thread should be upgraded to a Sticky in the Fitness Babes forum. That way, newbies can refer to it quickly to get a generalize picture of what we expect this forum to be like.

I rarely ever post in the Fitness Babes forum, but I do patrol it. Over the years, I have noticed quite a bit of an accumulation of unnecessary clutter. This excessive amount of clutter can easily be avoidable if members would follow the very simple and easy-to-follow rules we have in place here.

I like to think of new or "bumped" posts in the Fitness Babes forum as birthday presents. When it's your birthday and you see a present gift-wrapped with your name on it, you expect it to be something special and meaningful. A bumped post with a new picture of a fitness babe is like a really nice present. However, a post with incomplete sentences like "wow she's hot," or "perfect 10," are like horrible birthday presents. They're like gift-wrapped socks or $5 gift certificates to Wal*Mart. Those type of posts state the obvious, that the model is really hot; the rest of us already know that, so please keep those comments to yourselves.

That just about sums up my point of view. A picture forum should be full of pictures only. The only possible exception would be important newsworthy material about a model; like if she passed away, got married, had a kid, or something of that sort.

I'm going to go ahead and be wise-ass and post two pictures instead of just one.

Then of course, we have the amazing Ava Cowan. This photo is from the Fitness Hollywood 2007, where I competed in the Musclemania (bodybuilding) event. She's a very inspirational athlete and looks even more amazing on stage. Not only does she know how to hit figure poses correctly, but she also knows how to walk with confidence on stage and make smooth transitions from pose to pose. It's one of her many qualities that makes her stand out from her competition.

i have been harrassed by top dogs in regards to this matter and i was even given negative reps, on my first offense...i did not know that was a rule and i thought i was being nice by commenting on some of the pics and the looks of some of the models...wrong!!! i was violating the "rules" whatever!!! true, i have not made that mistake again though....thanks for this posting, it was helpful eventhough i really am bnot sure how to post pictures....i hope this one works ....

when i first joined, i definitely learned the hard way. i posted comments without pics in part because i was so excited that i had found a forum dedicated to all these beautiful women, especially since i love the fitness babes. it was like i had struck gold or found some sort of babe oasis.

i learned the hard way, but after i played by the rules, i found / find this forum to be very rewarding and enjoyable. the people who dont play by the rules, will eventually lose interest and fade away or at least i hope they will.
