Just take it easy to start with, especially upper body, and take a few weeks to work on your wheels, there's no better time to hit the squat rack and hammer some long middle weight sets. I'd also advise you on a page of Liza's book for great wheels: barbell lunges (I pinch everybody's training trick, I'm trying to place one from PowerHouse in as well). Until you're certain you have fully recovered from the op, then add deadlifts and Romanian Deadlift (yeah, that sound enough like a PowerHouse tip!). Don't neglect you back and chest then, of course.
|
why do back and chest suck so bad if they dont want to be neglected? :P besides people never go WOW Look at her BACK! do they!? heheh jks!! Sif care what 'people' think! Liza's lunges look awesome!!! HAMMY AND BUM AWAITS!

Since you want to gain, you have to get used to the idea that gain is not gonna happen fat free. You can just limit it. I've seen people advise on mixed diet: 3 days @ high calories, like say 3500 for you, and 4 days at normal calories, which is about 2200 if I remember correctly. You gonna ask how to hit 3500 cal? Sip oil if you need to. Olive Oil isn't all that bad But reallistically, get a high carb drink (dextrose/maltodextrin) and stuff in some rice/pasta ... I can't eat 100g (dried) of pasta on their own, but with a tin of tuna and a spoonfull of mayo, I easily shovel 140g (weight uncooked) of pasta down.
|
I've started pre-making rice and pasta and have been managing to get quite a bit down me! the trick is to not eat unclean and waste room i've found! and drinking water seems to help from the horrible full feeling!
yep, i understand that, i know that when you're gaining you have to do massive weight even if just for 3 reps, but like, what happens that if to force yourself to do that your form is going to be bad?
Thanks for your help yet again for the millionth time. What would i do without ya?

Liza inspires ME to do lunges. But, you are right-- hammies and bums turn heads.

Hasn't your diet come so far? Seriously. Look at how much better you are getting at eating clean-- AND eating enough!

Train with lighter weights to master the form. If the weight is so heavy that you are compromising on responsible form, then it is simply too heavy. (Not my intention jump in front of JoeBAR's response-- I am sure he has more in-depth advice on that question...)
You're laser sharp, gYmgIrL-- keep moving forward!

Actually, no, you don't do 3 max reps to bulk... According to some recent posts and research by Adonis, hypertrophy is optimised around 40 to 70s under tension, which would mean for the average trainee around 8~12 reps. As sucher67 says, you must NEVER compromise form. A bit of body english on biceps curl is ok, but not on squats, it's way too dangerous.
If you have the opportunity to get spotted, do so, that way you can push yourself a bit harder. It's sometimes hard to get on with it
I do what I can to help, I'm not always 100% correct though

Hi, I come from the future, we're in two zillion thousands and six now, The temperature outside is close to 100 celcius (yes the metric system finally eradicated the english system) and we're in january...
I just wanted to tell Hans that I'm still not done reading this entire thread. So keep on reading, I'm sure we'll get there one day :/
Oh and to GG, after winning your first figure competition, you then won the mostest of the most internationalestest competition, became a zillionaire, bought the world and became the MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE.
So don't give up !!! You'll get there before I finish reading this thread.

Hey Gymgirl...great progress. You are earning eveyting you get, but write your parents a thank-you note. They passed down some good genetics. You know that to be true when your body is cooperating!
