Default Is it possible in such a short time?

I was just wondering, because by the time I can go back to training from after my operation, if i wanted to be ready in time for the competition I would only have 6 months to train if i give myself 3 months to cut.

Is 6 months of training going to be enough to be in a competition after a 6 week break when i wasnt big enough before?

Please lend me your advice

There are a lot of factors involved there GG.

What was the extent of the surgery, if you don't mind me asking?

How long is it supposed to take to recover from an operation like that? Just curious. Oh, and hope you're feeling well.

6 months of training is a lot of time. If you are organized and determined results can be amazing. Breast augmentation if it is over the muscle will set you back 2-3 weeks. Under the muscle expect 4-5 weeks and maybe even more for pec/upper body exercises.

If you give us more info about your background & training experience, injury history I could be more helpful.

I didn't know that you had breast augmentation done. Maybe you mentioned it elsewhere & I missed it, sorry. I assumed you had an injury repaired.
Where I was going with "extent" was; ligament, tendon, cartilage? Was it full blown surgery or scoped, etc.?

6 weeks huh? Must be under the muscle?
Will the Doc allow light lower body work? Maybe light cardio too (stationary bike)?

Considering that you were in good shape going in, I'm sure you'll recover fast. Keep a healthy diet.

Hope the surgery went well & you acheived the desired results.

Good luck in the competition.

Insex they told me i wont be back to normal for at least 6 weeks, *sniff*No more tackle hugging people!! WAH!

thanks Archimedes I'm organised and determined! That's definately what i needed to hear

I went under the muscle and so I'm not allowed to do anything for 4 weeks, light leg-based cardio after four, and slowly get back into weights after 6. Until then I cant lift anything heavier than 5kgs!

My quick background is: been training and eating to be in a figure competition for 6 months and i only injured myself at the end (my wrist) cause of bad form, but thanks to the rest its better! and so is my form! WOO.

Yep Cracken! I did mention it somewhere but I was just thinking about it on the forums, i think i only mentioned it on my blog so its not surprising you didnt know It was full blown surgury. under the muscle knocked out with a breathing thingy down my throat and a drip! (scary)

I can do that light lower body work after 4 weeks, which will be good cause by then i might get my appetite back

It all went wonderfully and I am sooo stoked with the results!

Thank you you're the best

Now at last, I know what operation you had. Like Cracken, I thought it was an operation for an injury. Glad to know that you were not injured.

Glad that your wrist is better too. I've had some slight pain in both my wrists off and on. I can still exercise with the slight pain; I just cut down on the weights and go for higher reps. Do you do wrist curls for your forearms, by the way?

I guess you did the right thing by having it under the muscle. In that way, your muscles will be more visible.

Hope everything goes well with you.

GymGirl to help your healing proccess (building tissue, fight inflammation):

- Fish oils 1,5-2,5gr/day (1400mg EPA & 1000mg DHA)
-Whey protein Isolate 25-50 gr daily
-Vit C 3gr daily
-Vit E 400mg IU

also consider
-CoQ10 100-300mg daily
-Glutamine 5 gr daily
- ZMA 1 cap before bed.

These can realy make a difference and shorten your healing time.

If you have no appetite it is an indication that your body is trying to clean up the toxins (bc of surgery, drugs) so don't force the feedings, give your body a chance to detoxify.

Drink HUGE amounts of water to clean up you system & sleep as much as possible.

Massage your breasts DAILYx2. Have cold showers or ice packs on the painfull spots.

Having put allreay 6 monts of serious training, you will bounce back up quickly.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help!

No SkinnyGuy I dont do forarm thingies, maybe i should start Yep thats why i went under the muscle, that and i dont intend to have a high fat percentage ever and without muscle over that top i will have that rounded top look, which im not too fond of

archimedes thank you so much for that! I will do! I'm finding it really difficult to sit still and caused myself a bit of a minor setback yesterday. It's hard to sing cause the muscles are stretched so much.

I'm glad its ok not to eat cause its been really hard. I wanted to cut the carbs while I was healing so that I dont get flabby, but that might make me lose muscle so i think that might be a bad idea, as well as slowing down the healing.

I'm glad you think I can bounce back! I hope so I really want to be able to say to myself I went in a competition after a year!

At least my muscles will be well rested and ready for the caning I will give them :P

Thanks so much for your help everyone

Do NOT cut down your carbs. Eat as many veggies & fruits as possible. They have a basic Ph that will help to neutralize the acidic state of your body, because of all the inflamation and drugs that has gone through.

You will have plenty of time to get rid of the extra pounds as soon as you have healed. Do not sabotage your healing, help your body to help you, recuperation should be your no#1 priority right now, not fat loss.

How many cc's are your implants? Has the surgeon gone through your belly button? Do you have more trouble when sitting slouched or upright? How do you feel when driving? Do you get sick?

Keep your spirits up, you will get back to 100% soon.

Try to get your daily doses of EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids). Like fish oil, flaxseed oil, ect. Getting proper amounts of EFAs in your diet or supplements has been proven to reduce muscle and bone loss when you are unable to workout for a period of time.

they were 350ccs. I dont know if you can tell from my avatar but im small, so 350cc's had to be really high profile cause my chest diametre is quite small so they're a really nice size now!

REDUCE MUSCLE LOSS!! awesome. Adonis just told me that they stop blood clotting too so I'm a bit wary, might have to ask my nurse. Are EFAs in nuts?
I'm almost up to week three and I havent lost too much muscle, I've lost fat on my legs and either fat or muscle on my bum and a little bit of abs : ( *sniff* no bicep loss yet tho! tho its hard to flex them properly cause its hard to raise my arms, and so i cant see back and obviously flexxing chest is out of the question. But when it tenses it looks like its still there. : )

Fish oils (EFAs) should be your No#1 supp right now, for many reasons that can't be analyzed right here, and muscle mass preservation isn't the only benefit for you. (google it: EFAs (fish oils) inflammation, healing). USE THEM!

Don't worry about blood clotting, it is not an issue for you post-operative. It is an issue only before surgery.

You didn't get many cc's but getting HP and being small framed means your pec muscles got their share of stretching. Although it feels more comfortable try not to pass your day slouched, and lying down. Try to move around without exhausting yourself, you will heal faster. Use ice and cold showers, they help, bathing in epson salts will help also.

That's all, time is your ally , visualise with vivid details the marvellous-sexy-bikini-perfection outcome you will get, and make pain fade awaaaayyyy !!!!!!

Awesome, thanks guys!! I was already onto the salads and nuts, ill get some fish oil and perhaps i'll even eat entire jars of peanut butter :P

Yes, I have the worlds most stretched pecs! I can actually feel them under the breast tissue being stretched, its not the most comfortable thing in the world. I cant un-slouch because unfortunately that starts like a pain-chain. I think I pulled a muscle or something? yeah, so i have to be hunched if i wanna be at work :P

I've been trying to move around a bit, mainly because sitting still sends me crazy, but unfortunately ive been doing it too much which is why its still hurting so much. Damn me Cold showers sound nice though!

I got to wear one of those chinese dresses for a gig last night, and i tried on some bikini tops. haha it certainly helps!!!

Thanks again!!!

Peanut butter is mostly omega6. Omega6 is pro-inflammatory. Avoid all vegetable oils except flaxseed oil. The same goes for nuts except walnuts. Your best choise is (again!) fish oils.
