Default Favourite Snacks

What are some of your favourite snacks?

here's an easy one for all of you:

Tomato and Cheese Toast
(2 servings)

4 slices whole wheat bread
2 oz. low-fat mozzarella cheese
4 slices of tomato
2 tbsp bacon bits (eg. Oscar Mayer Real Bacon Bits or cook turkey bacon)
2 tbsp fresh chopped basil

Place bread slices on baking sheet and top with tomato, cheese and bacon bits. Broil at 350 degrees F until cheese is melted and top with fresh basil.

We broil this on a stone pan in a toaster oven, and it works great!!!

250 calories; 5g fat; 25g protein; 23g carbs

Enjoy!

if you guys have a Trader Joe's nearby, here's something that'll provide a great and healthy snack. i use it for my carbs postworkout. from traderjoes.com,

----
Great Seeds Equal Good Fat

Trader Joe's Omega Seed Bread is whole wheat bread with a whole lot of nutty Omega-goodness added in. It's chock-full of seeds, including flax, pumpkin and sunflower. The Omega Fatty Acids found in seeds are the “good fats” we should all be eating more of. Each slice has a sweet, nutty flavor plus 360 mg of Omega-3, 950 mg of Omega-6 and 870 mg of Omega-9. This tasty bread adds a healthful twist to sandwiches and toast. Try it with grilled tomatoes and cheese or top it with peanut butter and jam. Both make a healthy on-the -run breakfast or lunch.

We're selling a 24-ounce loaf of Trader Joe's Omega Seed Bread for $2.99 in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Southern California.

One of my favorites is the old tried and true celery and peanut butter. If I'm feeling it, I'll even go ants on a log once in while and add some raisins.

Perdue Short Cuts Chicken Strips

- they're white meat, already roasted and ready to eat
- healthier than wings, easier than driving to KFC
- eat them cold or zapped, by themselves, on a salad, or wrapped in a tortilla
- lots of protein, little fat
