I started consuming virgin coconut oil by the tablespoon ful (one in morning and one at night)about a year ago to counter high blood pressure naturally. It brought it down within two days and has stayed down. I cut back to one tablespoon a day and have the same effects. My cholesterol is normal. The bloodpressure is genetic, not a diet or exercise issue.

Glad to see you agree Adonis......the information is out there folks, clinical research, case studies, chemical breakdowns and analysis.... so don't believe the hype of 'all fats are bad', find out for yourself
Try coconut oil
Try wheatgrass
Abandon aspartame forever
Do your homework......and remember...
You are what you ate.........last month. Don't ever forget that one!!

I don't think coconut oil is all that great, even when it is virgin. There was one study touting the benefits but it turned out in the paper that even though it raises LDL less than unvirgin coconut oil, it still raises LDL higher than olive oil.
(ref: Clin Biochem. 2004 Sep;37(9):830-5 Beneficial effects of virgin coconut oil on lipid parameters and in vitro LDL oxidation. Nevin KG, Rajamohan T.)
If you are going to cook with oil it is better to go saturated. But cooking with a virgin oil will make it not so virgin anymore.
I don't think that meat eaters need to take in additional sources of saturated fats, they get plenty from their meat. But a little bit might be good for a vegan, to raise cholesterol, because cholesterol probably helps with muscle gains, a little bit. If you don't mind having somewhat elevated cholesterol.
